It's our little secret.

The California Alumni Association (those sweet people who keep calling you) has received permission from the Department of Motor Vehicles to produce an official State of California Cal License plate. Registration fees for this new plate will benefit fund CAA Alumni Scholarships for Cal students. There's only one catch....they need to secure 5,000 orders for plates before they can get approval. They need your help!

This isn't another Cal license plate holder. This is a Cal license plate:

via caa.convio.net

I want one. Go here and help get me one.

Let's just reuse this bad boy. We are big on recycling here. My protestations below might seem inane right now. But with the way readership is now, when the season starts, I fear that the FanPosts might move at a much faster pace. And certainly we don't want the old "Longshore is GOD" posts to be knocked off the front page quickly by newer "I HEART LONGSHORE" posts.

A Q+A with Cal soccer star, Alex Morgan:

CalBears.com: Was the experience representing the United States a lot different from competing for Cal?
Morgan: "This experience is not very different than competing for Cal. One difference is that I am not around these girls as much as my teammates at Cal, so it takes much more effort to become friends, especially in shorter periods of time. The camps help us all connect with each other and become a close team, but then we have a month away from each other. Playing for Cal and playing for the national team is really not much different. I put all my effort into my teams, and I take pride in wearing any jersey, Cal or the U.S."

MARSHAWN IS BACK HOME!

via imgs.sfgate.com

via imgs.sfgate.com

He is, as you might have guessed from the photos, doing a camp for children.

The camp is titled "Family First," a slogan Lynch and cousins Rob Jordan and Virdell Larkins adopted when they were teammates at Cal and extended with the saying, "Forever; Ambitious; Motivation; 1st place; Solid; Together." That family has now extended to other Cal and NFL players who have no East Bay links but found their way to the camp.

"It takes a world to raise a child," Delisa Lynch said. "We used to say a village, but these days, we need the world to come together for these children."

The message is hope. When one child asked Jordan if he played in the NFL, and he said, "I'm in the 49ers camp," the child didn't miss a beat. "I'll be there, too," he said.

"This brings hope to little people," Jordan said. "This is the way to show them that there is more to do than get in trouble."

Here's another article on it. After what happened yesterday at the Marshawn signing (story in the process of being written up), this makes me so happy!

Rumor is DeSean will be signed soon.

Alex Mack is an author. I wonder what his nom de plume will be. Any guesses? I'd go with either Marvin Phillip or TwistNHook. Nobody will figure those out! They are impenetrable.

ESPN Team Preview

Nothing new.

QB is a competition. Inexperience at WR. RBs look good with Best back. Props to the linebackers. 3-4 for the obvious reasons.

If the excitement of the Riley/Longshore QB competition is just too exciting to end, there's a chance both of them play.

7-5 overall and 5-4 in the conference with a bowl game at season's end. Gee, it's nice that they see us winning one more game than last year.

There are a few solid links. So, now, then, dump away! Go Bears!

Tony G has always been one of my favorites. He's still playing with the Chiefs.

A California man says Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez of the Kansas City Chiefs kept him from choking to death. "Tony saved my life. There's no doubt," Ken Hunter, a shipping company manager, told The Associated Press in a phone interview from Huntington Beach, Calif.

"Tony came up behind me and gave me the Heimlich maneuver. Thank God he was there."

The Fresno State Bulldogs, Jeff Tedford's alma mater, absolutely worked the University of Georgia Bulldogs tonight, 19-10 in the all Bulldog final of the College World Series to even the series at 1-1. The final game will be on Wednesday night at 6:00 pm central on ESPN.

Yes, a happy Tedford is important for when he finally starts Riley and benches Longshore. Ok, I'll admit that half of the reason I wrote that sentence was to get over the 75 word minimum for a fanpost. The other half was Longshore losing the Big Game.

Ite Ursi.
