We've posted a bunch of video interviews with Rockies players following the big clincher in LoDo on Thursday. Interviews include Jim Tracy, Todd Helton, Troy Tulowitzki, Jason Giambi, Yorvit Torralba, Ryan Spilborghs and Aaron Cook. What an amazing, improbable turnaround this season! Just great to see the Rox back in the playoffs... Hope they can keep it rolling so we can all enjoy it!

Torrealba kidnapping video

Hey Rowbots,

Anyone interested in seeing the full 20-minute press conference Yorvit Torrealba gave at Coors Field on Sunday, we've posted the video in 2 10-minute parts. Some pretty compelling stuff.

"It's something that, not even to my worst enemy I can wish that," Torrealba said. "For three days I couldn't sleep. I could really like not even drink water because I feel like, you know - I mean, I don't even know how to explain my feelings."

Yorvit even goes on to say his son argued with his captors after they told him his dad sucks because he was only hitting .220......

What's next for Tracy Ringolsby

If you're like me, your first thought as the Rocky Mountain News went under was:

What about Tracy Ringolsby's Rockies coverage?!!

I spoke with Tracy on Saturday and he says his column will still be out there twice a week online - it'll have a new home though. He'll also be appearing on the FSN Rocky Mountain pre- and post-game shows 104 times this season. So, don't worry, we'll still see plenty of that familiar cowboy hat.

I posted a blog about my chat with the Hall of Fame baseball writer. Click here for the full update.

12-minute interview with Huston Street

Friends of the Row,

We just posted our full-length interview with one of the newest Rockies, Huston Street. He seems really down-to-earth, grounded, a real team player. At least, that's my opinion of how he comes off in the interview.

Street talks about where he was when he got the news he was being dealt - in fact, it was another member of the NL West who first gave him the heads up. Those who know Oakland A's history can probably guess who. All pretty interesting stuff. Definitely worth watching.

12 and a half minutes with Todd Helton

Todd Helton took the time to sit down with 9NEWS' David Hunt this week. Among the topics of conversation: how his back is feeling, how the team will replace Holliday's bat, and his outlook on the 2009 season.

via www.9news.com

"To make it to the playoffs, to make it to the World Series, it's not easy." Helton said. "Even if you've got good teams, so much has to go right to be able to put a good season together. You just watch the game and you can see that there's a lot of good teams out there that don't make it to the playoffs. Confidence, momentum, injuries - they all play a big factor."

To see the entire 12 and half minute interview click here.

Over the next month, we'll have interviews with Troy Tulowiztki, Aaron Cook, Huston Street, Brad Hawpe, Garrett Atkins and others... I'll post the video links when they're available.

Tulo, Francis and O'Dowd on the Holliday trade

Hey there fellow friends of the Row.

Our sports crew over here at 9NEWS ran into Rockies' shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and pitcher Jeff Francis at an annual Denver Sports Awards banquet on Monday. Our executive sports producer David Hunt asked them about the Holliday deal, their disappointing 2008 campaign, and here's what Tulo said about watching the 2008 playoffs on TV:

"It was real tough. It was something that I mentioned to some of the teammates. Like, ‘Wow, last year you’re playing in it,’ and then when you watch it, it’s tougher to watch this year then it was, say, after my brief September call-up and then watching the playoffs then, it was like, ‘Oh, hopefully we’ll make it sometime.’ And then we finally made it to the World Series. So, to know what it feels like, and then watch it was real tough."

I've posted their full interviews in video form on 9NEWS.com, and also attached a previous interview Susie Wargin did with Dan O'Dowd right after the Holliday deal.

Follow this link to watch the three interviews.

Keep the faith, Rockies fans.

Mets blogger puts us in a NY state of mind

The last time the NY Mets were in town, the Colorado Rockies did something no team had done since 1956. They swept their second NY team of the regular season. The last team to do that? The Milwaukee Braves broomed both the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants 51 years earlier.

This season, both the Rockies and Mets come scuffling into this series. NY has dropped 4 straight and are in 4th in the NL East. The Rox have lost 2 straight at home and find themselves in 4th in the NL West (and need binoculars to see the first place D-backs).

We brought in Kingman from the Mets blog Loge13.com "The last days of Shea" to discuss the Mets as they come in for a weekend visit to the Mile High City. His blog covers all-things-Mets and even has a Shea Stadium Doomsday clock! (Too cool!) We discussed the troubles of both teams, Johann Santana hype, Carlos Beltran's smack-talk, Clint Hurdle's job security and how lovesick I've become for former-Met/former-Rock Kaz Matsui.......

Keep the Faith, Rockies fans

Dear Rockies fans,

I know it’s been a very, very tough road so far this season. We all expected amazing things out of our defending National League Champions. And yet, here we are, back where we were last May: 9 games under .500 and in last place in the NL West.

No time to fret though. We’ve been here before and still turned it around and made it to the World Series. So, in hopes of talking all the Rockies fans off the ledge, away from the “fluke” talk, I’ve made today “Keep the Faith Day” on my Rockies blog.

Click here for 5 reasons you gotta keep the faith!

Simulate your own Rockies late-inning collapse!

Man, it has been painful to watch these last three games. I mean like Middle-Ages-dungeon-torture painful. First an old pal, Kaz Matsui kicks us in the unmentionables. Then the bullpen does it again at home against the Phillies... two nights in a row.

But, now you can get that same good wholesome feeling in the comfort of your own home without wasting three hours of your time  leading up to it. I have a how-to guide posted on today's new entry: On The Rox. Click here to find out how!
