Help Get #OttoOnEllen
Have you ever wanted to see Otto dance on national TV and see SU get some love? Here is your chance. Let @TheEllenShow know that she needs to have Otto on her show...even if you don't like her show (but leave that part of it out). This would be a fun adventure and you have to admit, even if you don't like to watch Ellen, it would be awesome to see Otto on TV. If nothing else, this video should make your Monday more fun. We know that we have the best mascot in the country and it is time for the whole country to see Otto show off his "Moves Like Jagger."

Vote Kim Brown (@KimInCuse) As Cover Girl #OrangePride
Do you bleed Orange? Do you like rooting for those who help Syracuse University? Then you should vote for Kim Brown to be the next CNY Woman Magazine cover girl.
New Syracuse Blog- Syracuse State Of Mind
I just wanted to pass along that I have started a new blog about Syracuse. I have not lived there since 1988 but I love the city and university that raised me. I encourage all feedback and hope to include a mix of all things related to Syracuse and SU. I hope to do features of Syracuse tweets, SU alumni and the things I enjoy about the city of Syracuse and the area around it. I am working on a sports interview at the moment but making sure it is all good through the proper channels before I proceed. I will possibly do other Syracuse sports related topics in time but I wanted a cleaner site than before and mix it up more. Let me know if you have any ideas that you would like to see. I will still be around here as often as I can and promise I will not promote the heck out of it and hope I never make you nausea over it. I thank you for any and all support.

Tully’s: Central New York’s ONLY Choice For A Syracuse Sports Bar
This is the first entry in the Get To Know Your Local Syrause Watering Hole series. If you would like to claim a local SU bar of your own, simply email the site and get to writing.
Twenty years ago, an establishment was born that would revolutionize the food industry. A place that would take chicken tenders to another level and make others bow down to their mastery. A castle that was built on the foundation that all men and women deserve free bowls of popcorn at every table. This is no myth but is actually the legendary Tully's Good Times.
The menu is loaded with delicious options but regulars will tell you, there is no better item on the menu than the Tully's Tender Dinner (especially Sunday-Thursday 9-close when you get a free pint of beer with each platter purchase). If you want a fresh haddock dinner or some wings or maybe a burger, they do that as well but I assure you that you will never find anything as delicious as the plate of food pictured below. You have been neglected and mistreated if you have only tried other "tenders" and had the pleasure of trying this breaded chicken prepared by special angels who delight in putting a smile on your face.

Looking To Add More Orange To Your Wardrobe? This Is A MUST
Above is a link for a Orange Carmelo Anthony New York Knicks game shirt (for those of us cheap SOB's who do not want to drop a couple hundred on authentic jerseys. Yes I realize the Knicks are also orange and blue but you have to admire their marketing/merchandising IQ to make sure the shirt was orange and numbers blue to appeal to the Syracuse base as well. There is a note that says his correct number will be applied when issued but even though I missed the game last night, I believe they have his number correct in the graphic. I was hoping for 44 but hey, Melo is playing in MSG which is like South Syracuse anyway so you can't ask for much more than that (well maybe Andy suiting up beside him and GMac signing on just for a few games at least and maybe Hak too but thats just a dream). Are you seriously still reading this and not ordering the shirt? Why? The only hold up should be you just can't afford this and Sean's book this payday so you are waiting until next month to get the shirt so you can learn the proper ways of "How To Grow An Orange" (and yes I am pandering to Sean even though I didn't need to do so in this case but hey, at least I didn't advertise Tully's and their delicious Tenders this time....crap).
By the way, don't let anyone tell you that you own too much Orange. You can never have too much and something about a woman in Orange that makes her look even sexier. :)
Can't We All Just Get Along #OrangeLove
It seems of late that some comments on this blog have been, shall we say, more of a personal nature. I myself at times see things and get caught up in the moment and would like to apologize if I did offend anyone. However, we need to remember that this is a nation/community for Syracuse fans who love Orange and have a fun sense of humor to get along. This is not a forum for personal attacks, momma jokes (unless done with someone you know well enough to know they will take it with humor) or for trying to one up someone to prove you are the biggest Syracuse fan. If you cut us all, do we not all bleed Orange?
Many of us attended Syracuse University and look back on our time with smiles and enjoy still rooting for the school where we spent numerous years and numerous dollars enjoying the experience. Some of us grew up in the area and heard the stories of #44 as we were rocked to sleep at night with visions of Orange victories dancing in our heads. But the one thing we have in common when we come here is a chance to unwind after a long day (or checking it out during the work day like a crack head trying to find a dealer) and enjoy chatting with fellow fans and in many cases, friends in a fun, light hearted way about Syracuse sports.
I am not a "tree hugger" trying to find peace for every solution (not that there is anything wrong with that either by the way) but in this case, we need to remember that we all came here with one purpose in mind, our love of Syracuse sports. It is easy to get emotional when someone says something that bothers or offends you and sometimes people come here because they have issues in their life and the way to fill that void is to feel better by pissing people off. Although with that said, I am also proud of how much some stick up for each other when the personal attacks fly like they would a brother or sister. Sometimes though we all (myself included) need to remember that the best defense against someone is to just laugh it off or ignore them because by giving in, you feed to their goal and take yourself down with them.
I love coming to this blog and will until the day Sean gets bought out by some big conglomerate for a billion dollars and love seeing some of the same people who make Twitter fun posting here as well. Let's band together and not allow others who are entertained by the notion to tear us down to succeed (you allow the terrorists to win this way or so I was always taught). Let us enjoy posting with a sense of humor and a touch of intelligence (though I rarely bring either but I am trying). Let's support our brothers and sisters and grow together not as just fans but as friends, nay family. We will enjoy Syracuse wins with great emotion and cry together when we lose (and in both cases, consume a lot of alcohol either in celebration or mourning) but let's do this together.
So next time someone post's an attack, do not sink to their level but either ignore them or try to point out the facts of where they may be wrong and see if educating them helps but do it smiling knowing Syracuse is awesome no matter what any one person may say and they will not take us down. By playing their game, we now become a forum similar to the ones many came here to avoid and forget why we came here in the first place.

Villanova Tickets For an SU alum in Rochester area
One of the Syracuse tweeps is searching for 2 tickets to the Villanova game on January 22nd and I told them that i would do my best to help them out. They are an SU alum but do not want to pay a ridiculous amount for the tickets. I am sure they would love free (who doesn't) but said they are willing to pay, just not have to get a second mortgage just to pay for it. If you or anyone know someone willing to make a reasonable deal, please let me know and I will forward the information on to them. If someone has a couple buddies who backed out last minute and just want to see a SU fan there at the game or your boss is a Nova fan making you work out of spite knowing Nova is going down, leave a comment and maybe a way to reach you (or contact me, OrangeChuck on Twitter). I appreciate it as I love nothing more than seeing more butts in the seats at the Carrier Dome, especially those in Orange and I will receive nothing in compensation for this effort except seeing another Orange butt in the seat when we win.
GO ORANGE!
Make February 9th The Day Georgetown Regrets Screwing With SU Fans
I have heard a lot of debate lately about Syracuse fans being blocked or forced to make donations to Georgetown University in order to see the Feb. 26th game at G'town. This is ridiculous and as a Syracuse fan who loves his Orange, I am left wondering why this is not provoking further emotions in the fanbase? Sure, I have seen some comments and posts about it but what else?
I say we should show those SOB's what happens when this fan base is fired up and we start a movement by the fan base to make this game an ORANGE OUT!. I say the Syracuse fans unite and at 7pm on Wednesday, February 9th, we pack that Carrier Dome so full that we literally can't sell anymore tickets. I say SU fans wear as much Orange as you can find and when ESPN broadcasts this game, the Carrier Dome looks like it has an Orange interior (shirts, jackets, hats, pants, socks or cheeseheads and maybe some sweet giant heads). I say SU fans remind them just why they used to refer to the Carrier Dome as "The Loud House" and make that place so loud even Coach B can't hear himself yell at Fab Melo sitting beside him. I say SU fans chant so loud that the ESPN broadcast can barely be heard as the thousands in attendance shout "Hoya Suxa" (will settle for Hoyas Suck or any variation of this idea). I say SU fans be respectful of the GT fans in attendance and show them it is not about their fans not knowing a good team to cheer for but it is about their their team and the rivalry (make them fear us in victory and not by illegal methods that reflect poorly on our beloved university and fanbase). By all means, allow Georgetown fans in so they can witness a sea of Orange and a team that will kick their asses on the court.
If you have your tickets already, find all your Orange and JUST BRING IT! If you have not purchased tickets yet, go here Syracuse Tickets, find your Orange and BRING THE NOISE! Are we going to stand by and let some school in DC that doesn't even have a BCS football team get away with this or are we going to let our voices be heard and proudly display our Orange for all the world to see when the cameras are rolling? They want to be scared of our fan base then I say we show them why they damn well should be.
LETS GO ORANGE!
How A Glorious Pinstripe Victory Is Becoming A Depressing Hangover
I love my Syracuse Orange. I bleed Syracuse Orange. I literally had tears of joy as part of my emotions yesterday as the score read 36-34 and Syracuse were crowned the 2010 Pinstripe Bowl champions. And yet today I wake up and instead of that joyful feeling like I am walking among the clouds, I find myself sadly in hangover mode today. The sad part is, it's not from drinking but the lack of respect shown to this Syracuse team and it's fans.
First off, if I ever find out the name of the unnamed Syracuse fan who told Syracuse.com's lovely @KatieKrames (or any fan rooting for Syracuse) to shut up, I will raise holy hell in their name on every website and message board I can find. It's not the library or a museum you jackass, this is football and the way you show your team support is by cheering loud and encouraging them. It sickens me to even be associated with people in the same colors who would act as though everyone should sit on their hands and watch quietly. How about you ask the players what they prefer in a crowd and I bet you every one of them will tell you that they want to hear the fans being loud and proud of their team. To the unnamed fan, next time if you want a quiet game, stay home and watch it on TV because Syracuse deserves true fans who support them and are not afraid to show their love. How in the heck do you think the Carrier Dome was once nicknamed "The Loud House" and became a feared place to play games? That my friends is a tradition I was proud of in Syracuse country that nobody could retire.
And my other point that is pissing me off this morning, take your "the refs cost KSU the game" arguments and shove them where the sun does not shine. The officiating was horrible all day long. I have seen both defensive holding calls on replay a few times and I have yet to see where Chandler Jones or Mike Holmes were committing fouls (and Mike's was when the SU defense had momentum and stopped them from getting a 1st and would have likely forced them to punt). Hell, I saw 2 plays easily where Chandler was being held himself and would have gotten to the QB but do you see me seeking comments from him about how bad the calls were? NO! And for the love of all things holy, at what point was that shoulder to shoulder hit by Thomas an unsportsmanlike penalty call? That looked like a clean hit to me but that cost SU 15 yards and yet, not one comment about it from anyone. And yet this morning, I heard a Fox Sports News guy call this one of the worst calls in the history of sports (did he not see the ump Joyce take away a no hitter with a safe call?) and ESPN getting comments from officials and the player involved as though this was the crime of the century. The officiating was bad throughout the game and yet all we hear about is one call. May I remind you that either way, KSU still needs to go for 2 and yes, adding 15 yards made it harder but it's not like they took away the TD for it, they still had a chance to tie it.They also had a chance to get a FG earlier in the game but tried a fake instead that failed and yet, I have not seen one clip of that on any station yet. Last I checked, the Syracuse Orange football team are still the inaugural Pinstripe Bowl champions with a final score of 36-34 and nothing will change that. The field was crappy, the officiating sucked but Syracuse did what they had to do to win and that is what matters.
I want to end this on a positive note however and send out some thank yous. First to the Syracuse football team for a great season. To the SU seniors, thank you for all you did to get this team to this point whether you played in the Pinstripe Bowl or not, your efforts were appreciated. To the underclassmen and staff, I am looking forward to 2011 and seeing what Syracuse will do next season (BCS Bound?). Thank you also to the fans and friends on here and amongst Twitter who made a horrible year personally a lot easier to manage when it came time to share our experiences together. I consider Orange Nation more of a family and whether you played for SU, attended SU or just grew up like me a fan of SU, we are all #Orange4Life.

If You Need Pinstripe Ticket For SU section...
I know these are not cheap but did notice last night that now the $54 seats in the Syracuse section are sold out but there are some $82 tickets left on SUAthletics.com. I guess since they have it still posted and not sold out, the bowling event in Times Square from 6-10 the night before the Pinstripe Bowl is still open for those who want to spend $42 a pop for some bowling (first come, first serve basis), appetizers and a drink along with your admission to Bowlmor Lanes as well. I would gladly put this at the top of my Christmas list but #2 would have to be a hotel room and #3 would also have to include gas money/plane tickets from Charlotte to NYC to enjoy all of these. I do hope those of you who can go, go and have a blast and those who can't like me will be watching on TV. I can't believe we are only one week away and hopefully we will still have players eligible to play for the game as well.
GO ORANGE!
You Might Be Wrong If You Think Fans Have No Impact On Gameday
I have seen comments from people about how this team doesn't need a crowd to play for and should play to win. I am sure such foolishness comes from people who have never stepped foot on a field in their life or never heard what it feels like when a crowd is loud and supports you. It's like chugging a store full of energy drinks and never wanting that feeling to end. Sure, they come prepared and play to win but for those who remember, the Carrier Dome was once referred to as The Loud House because opponents came in and intimidated by the atmosphere. Players loved coming to Syracuse and playing for those fans who cheered at the top of their lungs and cared as much as they did.
I have played a lot of sports over the year and there is a HUGE difference between playing in front of a crowd who sitting on their hands and only vocal once or twice a game and a crowd that makes you feel like they love you. Sometimes the fans can actually lift you up and remind you why you are out there. Sometimes fans need to remember that even when times are not perfect and it looks like we are going downhill, momentum can change and they can actually be the cataylst for this change. Sometimes players have off field issues weighing on them and just need someone to show them they support them and love them, let alone 40,000 screaming in support.
We all get frustrated when times get tough, it's the nature of the beast but I assure you that as passionate as some of us may be, nobody feels worse than the coaching staff and players when it unravels. Sometimes being a fan means when it is getting rough, you lift yourself up and try to lift up the team and show them you are behind them and maybe even remind them, in a somewhat polite manner, to wake their asses up and get out there and make some plays.
This Syracuse team is 6-2 and I promise you, this group can win on emotion and talent. They are playing with heart and I hate to speak for them personally but judging by their comments, LOVE playing for and representing the fans. Is it so much to ask that we in return show them our love and return to the glory days when teams feared playing in the noisy Carrier Dome. We want tradition restored, we must also share part of the burden and bring back this aspect of the home field advantage. You want recruits to come to Syracuse, I doubt they want to come play at a cemetary when they can go play in front of 100,000 screaming fans elsewhere who will care. So go show them some love and I assure you the feeling will be mutual.
Pack the Carrier Dome, make a lot of noise and support Doug Marrone and this team who have done everything we asked for and then some.
Go Orange!
I Bleed Orange, How About You?
Grew up in the 'Cuse with a little bit of Orangeman swagger
Watching Coach Mac beating Big East foes like a hammer
But life isn't always perfect and the program started to head south
Until Coach Marrone came back and starting punching 'em in the mouth
Now this is the Syracuse football team that I grew up rooting for
And I thank you Coach Marrone for ensuring our dignity is restored
This year's team has the heart of champions and personifies class
And I promise if you underestimate them, they will whoop some ass
Ryan Nassib and RGLCL got the QB position covered and the ladies going crazy
Van Chew, Lemon and Sales will light up DB's for TD's if they start getting lazy
DC3, Prince-Tyson and ATrain will run over you if you get in their way
All American Rob Long and Krautman got kicking skills to make you pay
Trust me, you don't want your QB or running backs hitting our defensive line
Guys like Chandler, Lewis, Perkins, and Marinovich will send them every time
Our linebacking core may not be household names but they hit oh so well
If I were opposing teams, I know I'd fear Hogue, Cater, Spruill, and Derrell
Our corners deserve some respect so meet Phillip, Scott and of course Da'Mon
And safeties like Max Suter, #Shamarko, and The Big HoLmie will shut it down
We play physical smash mouth football again and bring it the entire game
Laugh at us like some in West Virginia did and we'll do you the same
For just like our traditions and self respect are back in the Carrier Dome
Let's support them by bringing back The Loud House, we must defend our home
We wanted our SU football we remembered back and our prayers came true
And now you see why I bleed Orange so I ask, how about you?
Good News/Bad News
Last week, I stated that I would write about the lack of support from some of our fan base if the homecoming/orange out game was not sold out (or at least got 45.000 to attend). Well the good news for many is that I have decided that I can't in good conscience write that piece. The bad news is, I believe it would make me feel like a hypocrite since due to financial circumstances and other mitigating circumstances, I will most likely NOT be able to make the trip to the Carrier Dome for the Boston College home finale in November.
If This Pitt Homecoming Orange Out Game Does Not Sellout...
I swear I will go off on a diatribe of epic proportions on how sorry this fan base is and how maybe they do not deserve to have a team to root for. Or I can simply write a piece thanking the fan base for their support of this team in one of the BIGGEST home games in recent history as they try to restore this program. Who knows, if this game sells out, I may do more than just write about it. Maybe I will find a way to either reward a fan who can prove their attendanceor be open to fun (also legal and free) suggestions on how to thank you for selling this game out. I am open to public humiliation through legal means and have performed karaoke versions of Cindi Lauper and Hanson in North Carolina redneck bars to prove the depths I am willing to go to see this team sell out. Your choice Syracuse fans, your choice. If you think Sean was joking in this post, try me. This team is playing their asses off for us and deserves your attention and respect and hopefully Syracuse fans can show them why opponents used to fear playing at the Carrier Dome. They are 4-1 and no excuses are acceptable.
Disclaimer: Those exempt include those out of work and can't afford it, those who have to work and can't get out of it, or those who simply can't make the travel this week due to circumstances beyond their control (or of course family emergencies).
Carrier Dome...Saturday Night...Syracuse/Maine...Be There!
For those who may not know me, I am not proud of the fact but I am not a Syracuse University alum but merely a college dropout who found some direction in life in the Army. I was however raised in the Bridgeport area for 15 years in an area that generations of my family have raised their children as well. I grew up around Georgetown fans, Notre Dame fans and whatever cool school kids jumped on bandwagons to enjoy. I however only loved one team and one color and I assure you that if I ever put together a will, the words "Bury Me In My Orange" will be used. I live in ACC country now due to circumstances I prefer not to go into right now but if I lived in the Syracuse area and had the means to do so, I can assure I would be in the Carrier Dome rooting on Syracuse as they face the Maine Black Bears and if you live in the area, you should too.

All I Want For My Birthday Is A Syracuse Football Victory Of Epic Proportions
I am fine with admitting that I turned 38 today. I am not seeking attention or some big party. I want one thing for my birthday...I want Syracuse to pounce on Akron and have a successful season (ok, I guess thats two things but they are related and I do not think I am too greedy). You can save the card I will read once and throw away or the cake that people will have to work off later or even some gift card for some good food (yes, even Tully's) and you can keep them all because I just want Syracuse football to return to their winning ways. I am so broke that dollar menu items are a luxury item at times but you can keep you money if Syracuse not only beats Akron but beats them swiftly and is on a mission to contend for a bowl game and possibly the BE title (but this season, i will gladly settle for winning season and bowl game contention). I have watched while living in ACC country as Duke football fans would laugh with pride about how their program could kick Syracuse's butt and I am damn sick of it. THIS IS SYRACUSE FOOTBALL FOR CRAP SAKE! We had great traditions, numerous hall of famers (past, future and maybe present) and I am sick of being some damn laughing stock. I was raised in the Syracuse area and when others told me growing up they could not root for Syracuse just because they were the home team, I said "Go Orange". Even when Syracuse was struggling, I held out hope and now it's time to prove why some of us hung in there and never left the bandwagon. I have my #44 football jersey, a bag of Otto Cheese snacks I bought at Wegmans last month while in Cuse visiting all ready to go and I am so anxious to see what HCDM, #SHAMARKO, Chandler, Nassib, DC3 and company can do that I am even walking around work and all I can think of is Syracuse football.

Screw Revis Island, We Got Holmes Island
“A lot of corners, when you’re out there one-on-one, it’s kind of scary,” he said. “You’re going to be man-to-man a lot more, and you’ve got to be quicker, with looser hips.”
The above quote is from an article on syracuse.com Life on the island: Mike Holmes mans corner for Syracuse University football team. Now I am not sure what makes this more interesting about this article, the island reference or knowing that Holmes has loose hips? I have high expectations for Mike this season myself and not just because he seems like a great guy on Twitter and bleeds Orange...well ok yeah, those are my reasons but I don't give a damn because if you bleed Orange for us fans and do it admirable, I will take every chance I can to support you as well. Good luck Mike.
Go Orange!
Keith Bulluck Comment From Donnie Webb syracuse.com Story
“I mean, that’s on those people to decide, man,” Bulluck said. “They have their greats – Kevin Mitchell, Dan Conley, whoever else. I don’t think I’m one to do that. I know I’ve been having a great pro career. College is one thing. There’s structure to it and I always felt I would be a better pro player. I was right because there’s more freedom in what you can do and how you can play. I don’t know. Maybe one day, I’ll be considered one of the great Syracuse linebackers. Until then, I’ll just be one of the great linebackers in the NFL.”
“Hard work is always what put us over the top,” Bulluck said. “We weren’t the biggest school or one of those powerhouse schools. We always seem to poke our heads in there or trip over our feet somewhere during the season, but we were always a tough competitor and always worked hard. Hard work usually gets you the things you aspire to.”
Those quotes were attributed to SU great Keith Bulluck in an article titled, "The best linebacker ever to come out of Syracuse? The numbers say it is Keith Bulluck". Maybe it is because I was in my prime of fandome bleeding Cuse when guys like him and McNabb played in the Carrier Dome but I love this guy and he is definitely in the upper tier of best defensive Orange football players ever. When he mentions us being a tough competitor, he was a HUGE reason for it. I recommend you read the article for yourself when you get a chance and not only see why many of us are huge fans of KB but why we see what he is saying and can relate that to what HCDM is trying to do with the program. I swear if him and McNabb were on the same team, I would stop following Carolina in a heartbeat just to root for them get Super Bowl rings together.
Check Out My "How I Spent My Summer Vacation In Syracuse" Post When Really Bored
How I Spent My Summer Vacation In Syracuse
This is a link for a love story that will make you laugh and make you cry. I gave it two thumbs up but then again, I wrote it so why not? It is a fun tale of how my 5 days (two were travel mostly) were spent in Syracuse, NY while visiting for my cousin's wedding. It is a love story because I love Syracuse and still call it home even though I live in NC and do enjoy it here when it's not so hot. Anyway, if you get bored check it out and if not, don't worry, I am sure I will forget about blogging tomorrow anyway and go another 6 months before I do it again (Christmas In Syracuse 2010, The Sequel?).
Did Everyone Know Today Was Someone's Birthday?
So according to a reliable source or two, it appears it is Mr. Keeley had a birthday today. Everyone make sure you wish him a Happy Birthday because I am sure he is celebrating it at home with cake and kool-aid being a respectable citizen (though I hear Brent Axe may pay top dollar for pictures that prove otherwise as payback for Sean's knack to always find Axe in a vulnerable position when pictured). Anyway, happy birthday and hope you are enjoying your new decor (I mean really, who doesn't love flannel?).
My Entries for SU Memorabilia Contest
Here are my entries if I did it correctly (TY Paulie, Alex, and Pam if it does). I have seen several of the entries and I doubt it's enough to win but fun to share some of these with you all. Most of these are from the 80's and as a favor to some, I left out the Otto cap. I doubt these will be the oldest or most unique but I gave it a shot. I hope you all enjoy them. Go Orange!
Post Game SU/Maryland Press Conference
I found the following video on YouTube that took place after the Syracuse men's lacrosse team beat the Maryland Terrapins 11-4 on Saturday courtesy of YouTube user Zambo4418.
Hardy and Nims had good games as usual but you have to love Al Cavalieri stepping up for an ill John Galloway as game MVP.
Also, Duke won today to secure Syracuse's opponent for the Final Four with the finals against the winner of Virginia/Cornell. This Final Four should be quite interesting when it starts Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Boston. Go Orange!
Davidson Students Remake I Love College And Left Wondering Why No Syracuse Video Yet
I found this hilarious video that had me wondering why the Orange players never did this. It's a take off the I Love College song by Asher Roth about the Commons, their food area. Enjoy and stare in wonderment as you can picture Orange players themselves doing something like this. Come to think of it, I am sure some of our bloggers could do this too as a I recall a recent debate between 2 of them over something similar to this.

Tony Fiammetta Compares Syracuse Playbook to Pros
"I've heard stories about it but I think you've got to take it day-by-day," he said. "The college offense isn't as complicated, and I've got to get my head in the playbook and do my best everyday to get better."
This quote was from former Orange FB Tony Fiammetta as part of a piece on rookies trying to learn their playbooks that I found at the Carolina Panther Official Website. Carolina is primarily a running team so it's not much of a shock that it would not be a one page playbook for a fullback. Even though they have Steve Smith, one of the premier receivers in this league, John Fox loves to run and pound it down their throats. He learns the playbook and gives those backs a chance to break out and John Fox will be his new best friend.
Brad Hoover Comments On Competition
Back from Las Vegas and I found this article HERE where the Charlotte Observer's Charles Chandler talks with Brad Hoover about his competition at camp, former Syracuse Orange FB Tony Fiammetta. The article includes a picture of Tony in a #42 Carolina Panthers jersey, 44 belongs to JJ Jansen out of Notre Dame and his old jersey number 43 belongs to saftey Chris Harrisso I guess he went with 42 for now. Joe Fields is listed on their roster as well so now I will have to try and make my way out to camp one day soon.
For the record, Hoover simply down plays the competition aspect of it and says that he is used to it and will help mentor Tony if that is what the Panthers organization wants from him. I am sure Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams will be in good hands either way as Hoover is one of the best fullbacks in the NFL.
Fiammetta Starts Off Showing Veteran Hoover Respect
Fiammetta Quotes on Carolina Panthers website
Living in the Charlotte/Carolina Panther market and being a Panther fan, I will probably find a lot on Fiammetta (though I am still waiting to not only see what his jersey number will be but if it will be available for sale). Since I have idled my blog, I will do my best to update everyone either through here or other means. This was my first fanpost so please pardon me if it lacks....what's the word........interest and not very newsworthy.
