Black Shoe Diaries If you are disappointed with the BoT...

...there is a new FB page devoted to help you take action now and in the coming years (this site has LOTS of information):

IMHO, voting out those we can vote out needs to happen. Hopefully, this cause, and others like it, will help this to occur. The letter of support started by the former players and a couple of prominent alumni just recently touched on the shortcomings of the BoT and the need for rationality to return to the whole process. We can help - please do so, if you agree.

Thank you.

Black Shoe Diaries Thank you, Anthony Lubrano...

...and Michelle Murosky too.

I first found out about this letter/petition when I was reading the AP story about fans singing Happy Birthday to Coach Paterno:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-pennstate-paterno

However, further down the page, I became aware of a letter/petition started (or at least loudly supported) by a prominent Penn State donor. This was the first time I had read anything like this, and I have been waiting for such news for a while now. Anyway, the petition is here:

http://www.change.org/petitions/in-support-of-due-process-read-the-message-below-and-sign-on-if-you-are-in-support-of-due-process

Needless to say, I feel a bit better about things (i.e., some rationality in the general public seems to be occurring), and, of course, I signed right away. It's very similar (if not identical) to the letter that the players circulated yesterday. Happy reading/signing.

Broad Street Hockey Thank you, Richie and Carts!

I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that two of our best players won't be here next year. Despite anyone's individual gripes against either, IMHO, it is undeniable how significant these two players were for our team post-lockout.

What I'm hoping is that people will post their favorite moments of either/both players. I'd love to see lots of awesome pictures and gif's of #17 & #18.

Thank you, Mike and Jeff. We're very grateful for your contributions in Philly, and you will always be a important part of Flyers lore.

Broad Street Hockey Plan B (or C or...)

With all of the armchair GM-ing here, maybe we should have a consolidation of the different approaches Homer may pursue in the coming weeks. (So, a post like this may be the first of many coming from the subscribers of BSH.) We have had a wonderful representative sample so far of all opinions that have either Carter and/or Leighton moving on to pick up pieces to help us win a Stanley Cup.

However...

Based on little more than intuition, I'm starting to get the feeling that the Flyers are considering options whereby they end up keeping both. So, I am humbly asking the following: what should the Flyers do on the off-season if neither Carter nor Leighton are going anywhere?

I'm hoping that defeatist/sarcastic comments will be left unposted, but sometimes those are good for humor (so, do as you will, I guess). What I'm hoping for are honest opinions of what can be done to improve the team with that condition in place (i.e., that both Carter and Leighton end up staying). There have been some posts about this scattered throughout other threads, but I (and hopefully others) would like to see such opinions together in one thread.

OK - you're the Flyers GM. You're keeping both Carter and Leighton. What personnel moves are you making in the off-season?
