Brian Harrison

I hate Georgetown and Connecticut and I write about Syracuse University Athletics at Orange::44.

Oh yeah, and I'm kind of a lawyer.

I also vote in the BlogPoll Top 25 and contribute to College Crosse, SBN's NCAA Lacrosse blog.

Inside Lacrosse has announced the 2012 television schedule for lacrosse on the ESPN family of networks. There are some excellent games on the schedule this year. And in addition to 37 televised regular season men's games, new this season is the broadcast of the ACC Men's and Women's Tournaments, along with the Big East Conference Tournament. Of course every game from the NCAA Tournament will be broadcast as well. Some regular season highlights include: Sat. Feb. 18: Duke v. Notre Dame A rematch from the 2010 National Championship. Sun. Mar. 4: Syracuse v. Virginia Always a classic game. Sat. Mar. 17: Syracuse v. Johns Hopkins Johns Hopkins looks to rebound after several down years. Sun. Mar. 18: Denver v. Notre Dame Denver was a huge surprise in the NCAA Tourney last year. That's not to mention the great matchups in the Face-Off Classic or the Big City Classic. And obviously ACC conference games and several other fun out of conference matchups are there. Something for everyone. Check out the complete list and plan your lives accordingly.

WSJ profiles the massive growth of Lacrosse in NY, NJ, CT

A great article in the Wall Street Journal appeared last week talking about the massive growth of the sport in the tri-state area, especially in New York City at the high school level. It also talks about St. John's player Billy Nguyen from the Bronx, who is one of the first city kids to earn a Division 1 scholarship to play lacrosse in a long time. Lax participation is booming right now, which surely means there will be an impact at the college level soon.
