I am a white, Appalachian, male (WAM for short). I played college baseball at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC where I received a BA in Political Science (1999). I graduated from West Virginia University with a MS in Phyiscal Education with an emphasis in Athletic Coaching Education (2001). I graduated from Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education with a MDiv (2007). I am a minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). I am married to Beloved (who is also the associate pastor at a church in Redmond where we live). I work at Presbyterian Church in Oregon. I am ADHD and extroverted. I am a type one diabetic and prefer stream of consciousness as opposed to well formed thoughts.

The Greatest Picture Ever!
This is my hope for Nov. 25th around 7:35 PM EST
In the visitors' locker room, the entire Louisville team was heard singing John Denver's "Country Roads" -- West Virginia's unofficial theme song.
Wow, but we deserved it!
WVU spokesman John Bolt declined to elaborate, saying "the lawsuit speaks for itself."

At least there's this tonight
"We’re all talking two weeks ago about how much difference the fans and crowds going to make to the LSU people," Holgorsen said. "Well, LSU played well in front of 62,000 of our people and then turned around and went home and played a 1-4 Kentucky team at noon with 95,000 people there. You want to talk about an elite program? That’s one. I don’t know about this place."

I'm a mess. After reading this, I'm thinking maybe we won't rattle Lee.

Predictions for LSU
I've been thinking about this since I watched LSU pound Oregon the first week of the season. I'm nervous, nauseous and pretty freaking excited for this week in Morgantown.
Basic, armchair predictions/analysis after the jump.
GameDay at Mountainlair Plaza " WVU Sports with Mike Casazza
I was reading some of the ideas and thinking what a bunch of morons these guys are!
Especially the commenter that stated (regarding the Washington State Flag) "ATTENTION: If anyone sees those morons from Washington State who travel to every single game day with their giant flags, will you please kick their arses out of Morgantown?!!!?! I don’t want any of that stuff near my football stadium!!"
I hope these aren't the types of people/things that get on national television representing my wonderful state and university.
Expansion scenarios and realignment in college sports - ESPN
Schlabach calls us a long shot, which I could see. I hadn't thought of an expanded Big East. That might be interesting

The Thundering Herd (while my least favorite football team in WV) is by far my favorite biscuit from Tudor's Biscuit World. I prefer the potato on the side.

It appears that Ed Cunningham believes that there is still a rift between offensive and defensive coaches. I don't buy it.

What they hell are they doing at UVA?
You know hip-hop's mainstream when...this video happens.
I once met a female alumnus from the University of Virginia that was pissed that the students were no longer "dressing up" for football games. The gall they had to show up in t-shirts to a football game instead of their traditional skirts, pearls and pretention for ladies (I use that term loosely) and Ray-Bans, ties and douchebaggerry for the gentlemen was unforgivable.

Great story about WVU recruit Dustin Garrison.
A closer look at Dana Holgorsen - Big East Blog - ESPN
What I like is he has an eye for the pass and what the defense is giving him. 29th in rushing this year at OSU suggests that if he has the personnel to run he'll run. Based on what we've got I'm having a hard time not getting excited.

Our game is ranked 15 out of 35. I hope our secondary can stop Wilson, I'd put Irvin in on every play he might have 10 sacks

This is what I'm talking about. Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at the big picture and remember that it is not always as bad as it seems.
