Orioles off season and Old Jingle
Espn came out with a post a few weeks ago about every teams off season. They gave the orioles a B. This was before they signed Valdimir. I was just wondering what you all thought the orioles grade was as far as there off season now? I give them an A-.
Also
I have been looking for the old orioles baseball jingle for years. It goes:
Orioles Baseball, Orioles baseball.
It's a father and son having fun together.
It's you and your #1.
under 'neath the lights or in the sun,
having fun, together!
I would really appreciate it if somebody knew where i could find an audio copy of this song or if someone had it they could send it to me.
NEW RAVEN Tradition
Reported in the Baltimore Sun. Willis McGahee wants to start a new tradition in Baltimore. That is the Baltimore Blackout. He wants fans to buys towels which goes towards his charity (which is great). But he wants fans every game to show up wearing the black colors and waving black towels. Personally I want to keep it purple. I like the black on only occasions. I think the tradition we should start for the fans to learn the words of the new Ravens fights song.
Balllllltimore Ravens Lets go
And put that ball across the line
So fly on with talons spread wide
Go in and strike with Ravens pride
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
Ravens dark wings take to flight
Dive in and show them your might
For Baltimore and Maryland
You will fly on to victory
Personally I think they should bring back the Baltimore Farewell, which was when the opposing team runs onto the field and when the opposing team looses you wave you handkerchief.
Just for fun!!!! New Name for M&T Bank Stadium
Sometimes I feel that corporate names of stadiums take away from the community-type feel a stadium should have. So I thought it would be fun to post a poll about it. I feel that Ravens Stadium doesn't have a good nickname like the Frozen Tundra or the Link or some kind of name that stands out and makes you feel the stadium is a part of you. Like Camden Yards represents the area in which it is built on and Memorial Stadium was a memorial to all those that have died in past wars and you always feel a connection when it comes to patriotism.
GREAT ORIOLE JINGLES
I know I am probably not allowed to post something like this but I have been looking for a month now. I have been trying to find some kind of audio for the great Orioles Jingle ORIOLES BASEBALL. It goes:
Orioles Baseball, Orioles baseball.
It's a father and son having fun together.
It's you and your #1.
under 'neath the lights or in the sun,
having fun, together!
Orioles baseball.
More than wins
More than losses
More than just a game
It's Orioles baseball
Orioles baseball
Orioles baseball
Orioles baseball
If you could help me out that would be great I can give you my email.
This is beautiful! I wish times were different and im am really pissed that i don't have memories like this!
Orioles frustrating again!
The Orioles leave their fans frustrated again! The orioles have this promotion out where they will be selling 500 tickets for a dollar to certain games. Figuring it was going to be a Tuesday night (Sept 15th) game against the Rays where there will probably be 5,000 people there a local radio station in town (WNST) decided that they were going to put together a rally. SEE THE BIRDS. They were going to try and reach that 500 ticket mark and possibly beyond. Since the Orioles web site cost a little more than a dollar with shipping and handling and a convince fee WNST sold them for just two dollars. One dollar goes toward the ticket and the other goes toward the Nick Markakis Right side foundation. With in three hours of the promotion they sold over 500 tickets, so they then asked the orioles (figuring they are doing a good thing by getting people to go to the game) if they could be granted an unlimited amount of tickets for this event which is also going to charity. The Orioles for whatever reason turned them down.
Now this issue leaves me furious and absolutely ticked off. The Orioles stink we know that, but to turn down over 500 fans and 500 dollars worth of charity is absolutely ridiculous. I posted this because the Orioles have once again failed to satisfy the community and to think they don’t even consider this for charity absolutely frustrates me. Once 1 o’clock roles around on Sunday the orioles will have been forgotten for a 12th straight year and this I think would have generated some buzz for them. It was a win win situation and they blew it again. “Wait till they see what the upper deck looks like the rest of the season. I mean this passed weekend we had the lowest attendance in baseball”
hope you all like it
hope you all like it
Just getting pumped for the ravens too. Great video.
This is a great video
Base Running is ATROCIOUS
After leaving a total of 16 runners on base the orioles fail to convert no more than one run. We seemed to be able to get on base just not knock anybody in. I mean its not like we didn’t have chances they were 0-8 with runners in scoring position. Can someone tell me what Izturis was thinking when there was a ground ball to Teixeira? I mean I probably would have faked the run home and take the out at first rather than take a man out of scoring position! Our base running has killed us this year. But every time we lose I just say to myself “ONE DAY WE WILL WIN” and when that day comes when we don’t make all these stupid mental errors, I will be a happy man.
Totally different subject. I wrote a post last week about how I think that oriole park isn’t loud enough and more people need to get into the games. Well I had some feedback such as people saying they think the people that yell can be annoying and obnoxious. I tend to disagree. I think the orioles don’t want a football crowd at the stadium like it was at memorial stadium, but that is another post for a different day. So I ask you. Would you like a Ravens type of crowd or an Oriole type of crowd to be at Camden yards to root on the birds. And when I say ravens type of crowd I mean they are into every play (paying attention to the game and interested).
Lost Generation of BALTIMORE Baseball Fans
A lost generation of baseball fans in Baltimore. I had posted a comment in a previous post saying how it irritates me when 5 out 20 thousand fans at the oriole games are into the game and watching it. Granted we are in last place and I don’t know maybe it is because we are losing that the fans just don’t watch the game. Or maybe it is Oriole fans themselves that have made this so. I am talking about the passionate oriole fans that grew up in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s who made Memorial Stadium the world’s largest outdoor insane asylum. Now I know that a lot of us here at the Camden Chat are die hard oriole fans but I am talking about the general fan. Now days you go to the games and people are texting or talking on their phones or even just chatting about what they bought at the mall that day, but fail to tell you what number Nick Markakis is and what the score of the game is and so on. People like that take away the whole atmosphere of a baseball game. That being said, that atmosphere that has been created at Camden Yards (Quiet Atmosphere) to me the people of those past generations I think are kind of at fault. I feel that when you go to games now and you yell people look at you like you have three heads. I almost feel to the younger generation now it is almost a fashion statement to go to the games as opposed to getting loud and getting behind your team when they are down. Trust me fan excitement at the ball games can go a long way. It can almost re energize the players I am sure to an extent.
I just had to rant and it is something that has been on my mind. Sorry if this may be little dis-organized but I had to get it out. Let me know what you think.

O's making a run for the playoff's?
My dad and i got into a discussion the other day about how long we think it will be until the orioles make a strong run for the play offs. Not a slight run but a legit run for the playoffs? I say if they can bring some of these rookie pitchers up this year; it could be next year but my dad said two years from now. Leave some comments and let m know what you think!!!
Orioles abcent in the community again!!!!
I wanted to re post this because from the responses i got it doesn't seem like most people know that this accourance is going on!!! Let me hear more of your thougts and i just want to get this issue out there again!
This really isn't much of a post but it is something that has been getting to me lately. I am starting to get tired of only hearing what oriole players have to say only through masn and the newspapers like the baltimore sun. The orioles really need to fix this problem. I think the orioles are really hurting them selves. One of the reasons we love the ravens so much is because we kind of feel a connection with the players and i just don't feel that with the orioles. I think it is total crap the the Orioles don't allow there players and coaches to speak anywhere else except for oriole owned networks. Like Nick Markakis he has this great new charity foundation and he is not allowed to advertise it anywhere else except through the orioles. It is just frustrating and if anyone from the orioles reads this you really need to get this changed BIG TIME!!!!!!!. Let me know what you think as a fan!
Its becoming that time of the year where the orioles become irrelevant and the fans start to get fired up for football. Unfortunitly its what its become but why not start getting pumped up!

I think everyone needs to see the orioles in the community. I feel they don't get emough press when they do it.
O's lose 5-2 versus the Marlins. Hopefully the bats come out tonight
Berken almost pitched what I predicted. I said 6 innings and with 3 runs given up. He pitched 5 innings with 3 runs giving up. The orioles couldn’t muster any runs off of Rick Nolasco. The mental mistakes didn’t help either. Thoughts things constantly drive me nuts. especially on the base paths. In the bottom of the ninth when Melvin Mora lead off. The third baseman for the marlins (Bonifacio) bobbled the ball like 3 times and I was thinking to myself he has to be safe at first but no he wasn’t. I think Mora with his age is getting slower and slower.
Tonight the orioles have rich hill on the mound and the Marlins have Sean west. It should be a pretty good pitching matchup. As west is 2 and 2 with a 3.97 ERA and Hill is 3 and 1 with a 5.18 ERA. Now you don’t know what you are going to get from Rich Hill. He could look like he is contending for a CY Young award or look like he was just brought up. Now I don’t know where the oriole’s offense has been? It seemed to have sparked up a little bit last week but these last two nights have scared me a little bit. So hopefully they will bust out with some run support tonight. That being said we are 7 and 10 in our last ten games and I hope that we keep the ball rolling. This weekend I encourage you to get out to the yard. Trust me the players feel a boost when they get a little home cooking. Also we don’t need thoughts wine and cheese Nats fans at the yard either.
Vote Best Orioles Logo
Ever since the orioles have changed there logo to a more real looking bird they have lost. So the baltimore sun has a poll going. They want to know what orioles logo you like and should be changed back to the cartoon bird. What are your thoughts. I personally like the cartoon bird but i think they should come up with something creative othere than the bird they have now. But i wouldn't mind going back to the black hats and orange brim witht the cartoon bird. They should wear them with there black uniforms
Orioles Rally Not Enough; Tonight could be a different story
Well what can I say? I thought last night’s game was a very winnable game going into
the match. Koji pitched the 6 innings we knew he was going to pitch. I mean he pitched very well, but if only
we can somehow build up his endurance to sustain a really good outing maybe he might get a
win. The Marlins hit a grand slam and I am not going to lie I thought the game was over from there. But then Weiters
hit a homerun and Andino scored in the 8th. I was hoping for another run but what are you going to do. As the top of
the 9th approached I was talking to my girl friend and had the game on mute as I was talking to her, but more so
paying attention to the game. You know how that goes. So as the 9th inning was going on I told my girlfriend look
the orioles are coming from behind. I started to give her the play by play and then Salazar hit the ball up the
middle and I couldn’t believe it. I thought we had the game after that but felt disappointed as we ended up losing a
very winnable game.
Now about tonight’s game. All’s I ask for tonight is that Jason Berken can get into the late 6th or 7th inning
with only 3 runs given up and then I will be a happy man. Then give Chris ray another chance because he didn’t
look so bad last night and then take it from there. The Marlins have Rick Nolasco on the mound tonight who is no
CY Young candidate so maybe we can knock him around a few innings and then get to their bullpen or maybe they
will put there closer in again at some point in the game and we can get a few more runs off of him. This to me is
another winnable game tonight and with Rich Hill probably on the mound tomorrow I don’t see why we can’t get 2
out of 3. By the way how about Rich Hill stepping up in the clutch with a big base hit. GO O’s
Koji Good for a steller 5 or 6 innings
Can Koji go past 6 innings tonight? Probably not. As Koji Steps on the mound tonight at world famous Land Shark Stadium in front of what will be a sold out ruckus crowd (Yea right but I digress). Saying that there is going to be more than 10 thousand fans at the game tonight is like saying Koji will pitch past the 6th inning.
Anyway about tonight’s game Huff and Markakis should be back in the lineup tonight which will hopefully propel the orioles to get some more run support. If the decision were up to me I would put LUUUUKE in left field, but I am fine with Riemold just not Pie. By all means they are not facing a future CY young winner in Andrew Miller who is 2 and 3 with a 4.56 era. The good thing about Koji is he seems to be pretty reliable, although his record does not indicate it. You can normally depend on him to give you 5 or 6 good innings and then leave it up to the bullpen. This should be a winnable game but that is why you play the game. I will leave in saying Koji belongs in the bullpen.
Lost Era of 33rd street
As the orioles have sweeped the Phillie's which was a huge series and arguably the best series for the orioles this year, I travel to work every day on 33rd street and wonder what people think as they pass the YMCA and retirement home that stand there today. Every day I look over at that great peace of property that has more memories than i will carry in a lifetime and am constantly angered for what has it become. During my lunch break i had walked over there just to look around and as i was walking i could hear the roar from 34 and pat the bugler walker leading us into the stadium, and the old colts fight song being played by the colts marching band. There is an oval shaped walk way that outlines the shape of the stadium and as I walked around that oval i imagined what was once there. It almost brought tears to my eyes and also brought an over whelming sence of joy to me. I mean the people that walked on thoughts hollowed grounds From Jim Parker, Gina Marchetti, Johnny U, THE COLTS, Brooks Robinson, Cal Ripken, Ray Lewis, etc. The list is endless. As i imagined it it almost angers me because alot of our younger generation doesn't have a clue as to what when on there. I wrote this article because i wanted to know what people think now of what has become of Our old grey lady on 33rd street. Are you ok with what they have put there and don't get me wrong i am happy that they have put something there that benefits the community but there isn't really anything there that remember what once was.
