Hey all, yes I'm not RRS. Get off the stage? Noooooes. Let me explain first! RRS is being weighed down with school, and so I volunteered to take his place. Go easy on me, I've never been good at formatting. And sorry for this being a tad late.

Okay, maybe I'm being a little nervous here. We're getting close to the trade deadline, with the deadline for signing draft picks around a month away. In past drafts, we've either signed the guys that were important pretty quickly, or signed them at around this time of the year. This year I haven't heard so much as a peep about the A's picks, namely Grant Green and Max Stassi. Does anyone have any idea of what's going on with these guys? Let alone what's happening with Krol/Leyland/Dyson. So I ask the smartest A's fans on the interwebz. I'm aware that they're all signability guys, but I'd expect SOME leakage about what's going on. (TWSS?)

Are we expecting this to push until the deadline? Who will we sign of the 5 main guys, if any?

According to MLBTradeRumors and the Padres twitter feed, the A's have acquired Scott Hairston from the Padres for 2 minor league pitchers and a PTBNL.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/07/as-acquire-scott-hairston.html

Speculation as to who the minor league arms are? EDIT: It has been confirmed that the pitchers are Ryan Webb and Craig Italiano.

Precursor to a Holliday trade perhaps? The outfield is full as it is, which means Buck/Cunningham/Etc aren't going to be playing like we hoped because of a Holliday trade....

Let the games begin eh? Sigh..
