Chael Sonnen grills Michael Landsberg on 'Off The Record,' storms off the set 'flabbergasted' (Video)
Chael Sonnen almost went Jim Everett on Michael Landsberg earlier this afternoon.
The self-proclaimed "Peoples Champion" was on Wednesday's edition of "Off The Record" in Canada, which turned into an absolutely must-see, bizarre interview in which the former number one middleweight contender admitted he was "flabbergasted."
Join the crowd.
Sonnen sips coffee, pretends to snore, takes jabs at the Canadian government, as well as its most successful mixed martial artist, Georges St. Pierre, who he refers to as "grease." Landsberg seemingly got off on the rough foot when he fumbled through the Anderson Silva back story, which Sonnen used to rake him over the coals.
After that, it was basically all down hill. Deep down. Sonnen eventually walks off and leaves the show with Landsberg in mid-sentence.
Landsberg has requested another interview, as long as Sonnen is willing to talk about "The Spider." No telling if the offer will eventually expire because, well, Landsberg is from Canada and may not know about such things (Sonnen's words, not mine).
Enjoy the show after the jump (be sure to get some popcorn):

Shields vs Sexyama in Japan
Japanese superstar Yoshihiro Akiyama will have plenty of support from his home country fans on February 26th, when he makes his welterweight debut in UFC 144 action against 170-pound contender Jake Shields at Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
“Verbal agreements are in for a welterweight matchup in Tokyo, Japan between former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields and Asian superstar ‘Sexyama’ Yoshihiro Akiyama February 26th,” said UFC President Dana White.
Who you got?

Overeem Vs Lashley, Dynamite!! 2010
in a blockbuster move, Strikeforce matchmaker, Rich Chou has confirmed that their heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem will take on former WWE superstar, Bobby Lashley at Dynamite!! 2010 on December 31st in Japan, with DREAM’s version of the title likely up for grabs.
On fan questioned Chou about the fight via his Twitter page earlier today and the following response came back…
“Its going down in Dream. Some massive boys in the ring for that one.”
Overeem has recently captured the K-1 World Grand Prix title to add to his Strikeforce heavyweight title, something which has received mixed reactions from the fans. With fights against the likes of Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum looming for 2011 a win over Lashley would be a nice way to reintroduce himself to the MMA world.
As for Lashley, he suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Chad Griggs under the Strikeforce banner and left the promotion after his contract wasn’t extended. He holds notable wins over Bob Sapp and Wes Sims but a fight with “The Reem” is defeinately the biggest fight of his short career to date.
UFC 127: BJ Penn vs Jon Fitch booked for Feb. 27 in Sydney
That's according to UFC President Dana White, who confirmed the unexpected and rather hasty booking to Heavy MMA during the UFC 123 post-fight press conference on Nov. 20 in Auburn Hills.
Penn of course was victorious in his welterweight return at last night's "Rampage vs. Machida" pay-per-view, knocking out Matt Hughes in just 21 seconds in the rubber match of their 170-pound trilogy.
"The Prodigy" now has a legitimate reason to postpone his return to the lightweight division, where he coughed up his 155-pound title to Frankie Edgar back in April.
Aside from his "Knockout of the Night" over Hughes, Penn has the chance to change the landscape of the entire division should the Hawaiian prove victorious "Down Under" against a fighter that many people believe is the true welterweight number one contender.
Simply put, they made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Kimbo Slice A Survivor?
Survivor superstars Russell Hantz and Boston Rob will lead 2 tribes on Season 22 of the show, and one of the shows may have backyard brawler turned MMA fighter turned Boxer Kimbo Slice
At the moment this is only speculation (as the full cast will be released 2 months before the show actually begins) but everything can be leaked
If this is true Kimbo would join Miss California USA 2009 and Miss USA 2009 first runner-up Carrie Prejean as the "stars of the show"
if this is true, what kind of player will Kimbo be? will you watch because he is on it?

Heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee released from his UFC contract
That's according to his manager Alex Davis:
"Well, I'm not sure exactly what the problem or problems were. I tryed [sic] hard to avoid, but Dana wasn't listening. It unfortunate, but Todd's an asset and he will keep fighting. He's a young kid that gets a lot attention."
SI.com's Josh Gross passes along the quote from Davis about the apparent difficulty in dealing with the talented but ornery Duffee, who set the division ablaze with his record-setting knockout over Tim Hague, only to go belly up after a KO loss to Mike Russow just a couple of months later. Any chance he shows up in Strikeforce? And what kind of impact can he make if he does?

Bisping Talks Sonnen, Hardy and More
"I see myself as the favourite in this fight (against Yoshihiro Akiyama) and if I don't win, then I'll be very disappointed.-- Check out the full interview at blogs.mirror.co.uk.
"I've been a proud ambassador of UK MMA, I've worked hard and I've helped grow the sport to where it is. I haven't disappeared off to America, like some Mohican wearing people (Dan Hardy) and lived there and trained there, but then come back here and pretend I'm English.
"My roots are here in England and I stay here and I train here and I'm proud to be English. You know, I don't go training in America because the trainings better, but then come here and try and get all the UK fans on my side. I'm English and this is where I'm from and this is where I train".
"I'd love to fight Chael Sonnen. He's looking phenomenal. ...I think personally he's a bit of a tool to be honest. He's awesome at promoting a fight, but he's delusional and he's so far up his own arse it's unbelievable".
"I think if I beat Akiyama well, I think either a rematch with Wanderlei (Silva) or Chael Sonnen or (Nate) Marquardt or whoever the top guys are in line for the title - I want to fight one of them contenders and then hopefully get a shot".
Move Over Rampage, Bob Sapp Wants To Act
It seems that rampage isnt the only MMA superstar to get cast into a big time movie these days.
MMA legend Bob Sapp has been cast in the new Conan movie as the ultimate bad guy,
"Ukafa is in his 30s-40, very dark-skinned African or African American, massively framed at six-foot-five, gold-toothed, hardened by a lifetime of war, a leader of Kushite Tribemen from the savannahs of Kush. Ukafa is Khalar Singh’s second in command, jealous that Singh’s son, Fariq, will one day be warlord. He obeys his leader but plots the overthrow of his son. He is a mighty warrior and unbeatable in battle—until he comes face to face with Conan."
