Congratulations Cody Ross on going to the Playoffs
He may not be a Marlins any longer, but am glad things are working out for him out west. He would not have had this opportunity here in Miami, where our team must spend the next few months rebuilding and trying to figure things out.
Well, we may be done for the season, but at least there are the playoffs and Football season to keep us entertained. See you guys next year. Congrats again Cody Ross!!!!
Sandy Rosario is absolutely USELESS!!!
So the kid had a disastrous (putting it mildly) first game a few days back....maybe he could do better next time around. Right? WRONG!!!
The kid could not handle coming into a game where we were up by six, and before fans at the game could make it back to the stands after a beer and hot dog run, the kid managed to load the bases and give up another run. It happened so quick that if you left the stands for three minutes, the damage was done. I am sorry, but the rookie pitcher is a bust. His ERA is an eye popping 54!!!!
I am so tired of the team this year, and am sure season ticket holders are too. It sucks paying for Marlins tickets (not the cheapest in baseball) only to see them field a team of AA and AAA rookies. Is anyone staring to miss Cody Ross yet? Hard to be a die hard fan when Loria and the management insist on making you pay to watch sub-standard minor league players making league minimum, because we are too cheap to buy any talent.
Marlins Stadium Panorama
I went by the stadium yesterday and made a panorama picture of the construction site. I would like to share it with you all, in case you haven't been by the site lately. This is the first time I upload a picture, so I hope it works. As you can see, the progress has been tremendous. If requested, I can also post a short video clip of the site with the noise of the construction machinery and workers.
Sorry to tick off other die hard Marlins fans here, but...
If this team doesn't rebuild in a spectacular fashion in 2011, the new stadium won't make much of a difference after the first year or two. Yes, we have had some unfortunate injuries and bullpen troubles, but I don't think Loria has any serious interest in building up anything relevant.
I think the man will sell the team after the 2012 or 2013 season, having left taxpayers 2.1 billion dollars porer. He lied about the team being barely profitable so he could get the stadium at little cost to him, double the team's price, and sell high. I still have yet to see anything that makes me think Loria has any interest in fielding a team that will make season ticket holders proud, and attract new fans to come watch the games. Just ask former Expos fans/Nats fans exactly what they think about him.
As painful as it is, I'm here for the long run....like all of you. This is what it means to be a real fan, we love our Florida Marlins through good times and hard times. Soon enough we will have an owner who has a real passion for baseball, and a team that will make Miami the talk of the nation.
Ronny Paulino gets no respect despite being a solid player!
At every home game, it is extremely frustrating to see everyone wearing Ramirez shirts and clapping wildly for Ramirez, Cantu and Stanton every time they are up, yet one of our greatest talents, Ronny Paulino...seems to gets no recognition for his outstanding performance.
Here are the facts:
Ronny has a .310 batting average, the highest for any Marlins player this season. He may not hit many home runs, but he hits, and hits extremely well.
Ronny has safely hit safely in 12 out of his last 14 games. He is one of the most consistent, if not the most consistent hitter the Marlins have this season..
Ronny is a heck of a catcher. When he throws from the plate to 1st or 2nd base, runners scramble for safety, only to be tagged out. Just last night he deflated the New York Mets by throwing out their first runner at 1st base...and he's done this several times in the last few weeks!
The man has heart, and he plays better than some of our "stars," including the lazy diva, aka. Hanley Ramirez, who has played extremely lazy this season...ie. the ball he kicked to the outfield, the lackluster hitting, the lack of enthusiasm.
Stanton still has a LONG way to go, Cantu has been spotty this season, and Uggla can be a finicky hitter at times too. Ronny has been one of the few bright spots in this long season...it's a shame more people don't see that.
