i like armon johnson

Before the hysteria of the draft set in I do remember reading on a few posts the idea of Armon Johnson being a guy we might be drafting, but soon forgot about him. Then we drafted him and I said to myself "hmmmmm."

then I searched for him on youtube and this video came up.

I thought to myself "This is a cool song", and thus I started to hash an opinion of our newest point guard in training.

the next video would leave me speechless.

..........(he hates the lakers!!)

So yeah, Armon Johnson is a pretty darn cool guy. Glad he is a Blazer.

 

Forgive me if this is an unneeded post, but I figure everyone has something to be thankful for, and there isn't anything wrong with organizing our thanks in one place right? I know I am very thankful for a lot of things, and I miss the community here quite a bit not being able to post nearly as much as I once was.

It is time for the Trail Blazers to get mean. We have a very tough playoff series ahead of us, and as great and mushy as it was to thank everyone it is time to get real, and aggressive.

Great job by everyone involved with the Thank You threads.. but it must stop, and it must stop now... Lets get some real energy going here, lets show how badly we want to beat the Rockets, and then the L*kers.

So Screw you Thank You threads, you had a good run.. But it's time to go.

I recently stumbled upon this blog and thought it was pretty informative, a real treatful of information solely based on a singular subject. I was always worried about posting my opinions because I had no idea how folks might respond, I am use to the typical and rudimentary laws that blogs abide, yet for some odd reason I felt that it was in my better judgement not to come out of my shell and grow into the Octopus that I've been told I could be.

Seriously, Heavenly, Spirtually, and TominHawaiianly(rehabbinly, Dragglinly)... Why don't the Blazers of Portland occasionally wear a throw back?

I figure they might be playing the 'rebel' card, and almost believed this... but then I slapped myself across the face, asked myself why, then realized that I was being slapworthy.

It's not like we would be throwin it back to 2001 right? I mean I wanna see current Blazers in 70's era Blazers uniforms, is that so crazy? At the very least our throw backs look better than... well, half the leagues current uniforms. Maybe our current uni's are so good they dont wanna intimidate the league with bad ass throw backs?

BTW, I'm a huge homer. But our jerseys kick ace face...

Worst Junk Drawer Ever

Where in the wide world of Sports is today's Junk Drawer? I was all ready to post something on it, and couldn't find it, this made me angry, and when I get angry, I get eccentric. I also stole tomorrow's Junk Drawer out of spite.

I am obsessed with Narwhals, they are the greatest animal that was ever born. They are kind of like manatees, which as you know is the cow of the sea, but they are whales.. and they have a tremendous horn/tusk which I would buy on the black market for a good price, would probably make a good cane.

 

I meandered over to Bright Side of The Sun and to my surprise I saw that the fine folks at Golden State of Mind had one upped my fanpost about Portland trading for Shaq, and made one about Golden State trading for Amare, and even used an exclamation point in the fanpost title(a total blog no-no)!! So, I believe it is now time for us Bedgers to go and post the crap outta my post and show those Golden State fans that we are the true invaders of BSoTS. Post stuff like, "This trade is Narwhalerific!". Or don't, both options are equally effective.

So now seriously, aren't Narwhals terrific?

Ladies and Gents, I have come here with a chaotic idea, and a plan. A metamorphosis of thought has brought me to this island of self reflection, and it is here that I realized that today, February 4th should be a day in which we enjoy ourselves, a day we can blow of the stresses that occumpany a wedenesday, and more importantly an incredibly hard to read blog. Whoa. I am a Hugantic fan of this blog.

The other day Tom gave me a call and suggested that I write a blog and suggest in it that he had told me something that he had in fact never said. Well I am not going to do that. Its not my style, and I will not feed into his trickery, especially on this day, the day in which the birth of the SB Nation Rec game was born.  

So here is my idea.. Most SBN blogs don't have the following that BlazersEdge does, and few even know what a rec is, where as over here we use the Rec as a sign of love and scorn. My idea is for this day, we go all rec city on all the Blogs in  SBN, but we gotta make sure we all hit the same fanpost on each blog.

I think we should suggest the posts in the comments below.. I'm gonna go ahead and take first crack and say rec the Shaq to Portland post I made on Bright side of the sun.  Try to suggest sites that lack rec'd posts, and lets get crazy with it, big willie style all in it, gettin jiggy with it.

Now, first of all let me say that I would not want the Trail Blazers to make this trade, It would just be too hard for me to warm up to The Big Aristotle, and not have the horrible visions of playoff series lost in my brain.

However, over at BlazersEdge there has been some deep discussion on whether or not this would be a good idea for the team, and whether or not the Suns would be looking to trade Shaq in the first place.

It seems the most common trade idea being pushed around is a combination of Raef LaFrentz expiring contract, Channing Frye, Sergio Rodriguez, and Joel Przybilla with potential draft picks to entice Kerr. Again, I wouldn't be interested in this trade, and I am not coming here to troll, just curious if this is something that would have any legs among the fans over in Phoenix?

I believe there is a great present needed here... Inactivity on the internet could lead to some crazy Travhole like me claiming the Junk Drawers most prestigious and sought after prize.. I will not even mention it here, as it is just to great, I hold second place for this prize with a solid 40 and I doubt that will even ever be outdone... And apparently everyone wants football the Ha out of the Junk Drawer pantheon, and I accept and understand this.. But dag nabit Go Lions!

Clint Eastwood is a really great director, he has earned the right to pretty much make whatever film he pleases, and rightfully so(might contain awesomeness, even spoilers.)

To be honest... Twiggs and I had to sign a very lengthy contract with that Hawaiian from Tomisland and that image of a smiling JBay cannot be shown, but hey, he did buy us beer and corn dogs.. Totally worth it... Right Tom??

I also wanted to say the q4 freakin rule, and I miss their loving arms, but that Andy once thought he was KP.... If anyone needs to send christmas card spam, I know this guy, prezofdeath who is totally into that kind of thing, actually he's not but he is really freaking cool and he like everyone else better have a great holiday season, or else my love/hated cat Travis will have to recruit the likes of Bonzi and bow4meow to guide some christmas cheer into your mirror loving lives!

Also I need to repost this image I stole from good ol' Sophia, an image depicting her joyously with the one and only Travis Outlaw! Btw Mortimer, please don't do what we all know you are gonna do... Or yeah, just do it.

Trail Blazers 106 - Warriors 111 yuck

I was asking my co-workers this after listening to the game tonight, "How can you feel bad about this game after Greg Oden scores 22 points, and pulls in 10 rebounds?". They were mostly ho hum on the stats, and overall just mad that we lost. I don't blame them, but I soon came to the realization that I was more excited about Greg's individual performance than I was about the team winning a game...

Is this a new problem that others might share? Or am I just that excited about the future and more realistic about the present? I honestly don't even know my own stance, I just feel fine after this loss, and my optimism couldn't be higher.

Dave layed the blogdown on us all earlier with a big fat warning, and I don't blame him. This is a site built upon the quality of content, and it's that content that made us (arguably) the best NBA blog around for overall quality. I think it's a shame that Dave had to come out and make a post about it but I don't blame him.

What should we do to prevent further indescretions in threads? Thread Police? I vote Timbo...

This is my next venture for most irrelevent Junk ever, wish me luck.
