April 29, 2009 - Question: Would you like to take Hank Haney's place in "The Charles Barkley Experiment"? - Answer: I would not because I'd have to give away the secret to the Over The Top Golf swing on the show then nobody would have to purchase the DVD in order to learn it. If I could just stand there and watch the big guy crushing ball after ball with neither of us saying anything, I suppose that would be OK. - Question: Then what's the reason you say "I WANT CHARLES BARKLEY!!!"? - Answer: First, just by watching Charles' new swing, most amateurs will still only be able to guess at what he's doing. Second, the sight of a golf ball screaming down the fairway off Charles' club face will sell at least a thousand DVDs in the first hour. - Question: So you will achieve instant popularity and success.... - Answer: Success, yes. Popularity, definitely, no, because as much as people love Charles, they are transfixed and immensely entertained by his extroardinarily crappy swing and secretly wish it upon him forever-it's becoming his trademark. - Question: Do you feel, then, that Charles might have manufactured his bad golf swing on purpose just for the sake of publicity? - Answer: No, he really sucks.
