Don Lane passes away aged 75
Now I know most people are saying "who?", so please take a minute and let me explain.
Don Lane was an American entertainer who lived and worked in Australia for the last 40 years. Born in the New York he was an avid Giants fan and brought his love of American Football to Australia. In the early 1990's he hosted the NFL broadcasts on the ABC for a couple of years and during that time he introduced the NFL to alot of people out here. Don was so enthusiastic about the game but he understood that most Australians knew next to nothing about it, so he undertook the task of educating us in as many aspects of the game as possible. Even for those of us who had been watching it for years (myself and my brother), we learned so much from Don and came to appreciate the game even more.
So while the name may not mean much to many of you, for a lot of Aussies, Don started and/or enhanced a love of Gridiron.
Thanks for the memories Don
R.I.P.
Have a look at this Poll
if you want to know how sick of the Culter/McD thing people are,
the question was "if Jay were to leave who would you want to replace him". Brady Quinn with 23%, Romo with 16.7%, None of the above with 15.75% and I don't care with 15.3% and four other QB's lower than that including the spleen
At last a rational look at the mccutlergate scenario
Hi all,
I just read this article by Dave Krieger of the Post and I must say it must be the most rational look at the situation since it all started, I was really impressed that a member of the MSM can actually make an intelligent comment.
