According to this link, NBC has chosen the Flyers/Rangers game on February 15, 2009 over the game (only possible game this season for the Sharks on NBC's flex schedule) featuring the Sharks and the New Jersey Devils as their Game of the Week.  The title of the site says April 15th, but they mean February 15.

I know this probably doesn't mean much in the long run, but as usual NBC only chooses the same few teams over and over (NY, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Washington, or any combination of such) while refusing to showcases the truly stalwart teams this year.  I guess it makes sense to only focus on the teams with the biggest fanbases and markets, but they aren't doing well to spread hockey to the US.  Instead of giving the Sharks some national attention, they're catering only to the audiences of the 'big' teams.

How lame.
