What are some of the things I should really know...

Good evening,

I'm a long time fan of most Chicago sports teams, but I've never really gotten into hockey at all. I decided that I am going to give hockey a chance this year and throw my full hearted support behind my local team, the Blackhawks. Problem is, I don't really know that much about hockey but I'm catching on...what's not to like, it's fast, the jerseys are cool and there's fighting.

So, I need to know some basics, specifically:

1. Do we have a rivalry I should know about? (like the Bears have with Green Bay).

2. What other teams should I hate? (like I hate the Pistons)

3. Are there any traditions I should know about if I end up going to any of the games live?

These are the specific questions I have, but please feel free to let me know anything else that might be important for the new fan :)

Thanks in advance!

Could Ben be planning to use this deadline from Team UK as a Dengesque ultimatum for contract negotiations with the Bulls?

If so, and if it works as Deng's did, we might see some resolution on the matter by the 19th!

What Might Have Been (Cavs/Bulls)

Looks like the Bulls were gauging Deng's trade value before agreeing to his new deal, and Cleveland might yet be interested in Hinrich (but at what cost?):

"The Cavs tried to work a sign-and-trade with Chicago for Luol Deng, but the Bulls decided to keep him to the tune of $71 million over six years. They'd rather have Deng (both the Cavs and Bulls) than restricted free agent Ben Gordon, who wants a Deng-type deal. The Cavs do have an interest in Kirk Hinrich, but nothing may come of that for a while -- if ever."

I was just checking out this article about Denver's possible interest in trading AI away and they mention that:

They'd also trade Kenyon Martin or Nene, if anybody wanted either. And owner Stan Kroenke would be willing to deal the Rocky Mountains if he owned them and it would keep him from paying the luxury tax.

I think Nene could certainly fit in as a center for us, not sure K-Mart would fit in anywhere, but what do you guys think? Should the Bulls be talking to the Nuggets?
