Not sure what to make of this. Is this the first of many? Was this coming w/o Sandusky? I know when I was an HR Exec. in industry, one of the first people I checked with on a controversial issue like this was our attorney. I have wondered from the start, why nobody from Penn State legal (not BSD legal) has ever been mentioned..
It's always nice to talk about the Ohio State University failing at any sport. Even waterskiing. Who knew they had a team? Couldn't tell if this guy is covered with tatoos.
This story about an NC football player(s) sounds hauntingly similar to tOSU. Maybe everybody ('cept Stanford and PSU, of course) does it!
I realize most of you have forgotten about your NCAA bracket weeks ago. However, take a gander at who wins all the loot if Connecticut wins the Championship. Because no BSD'er picked Butler and I picked Notre Dame, could I get bonus points since they are in the same state? (Didn't think so). Also, Congratulations to "Kool-Aid". He/she was the highest finisher to pick Penn State to win it all. Way to go out on a limb!
Columbus paper says Tressel asked for his suspension to be increased to five games (ha, ha)! NCAA turned down the appeal on the tat-gaters. So they're still at five games. BTW: The John Bruno mentioned appears not to be our punter from the mid-80's. He is a Pitt grad.
Auburn represents the National Championship well. Guess none of these guys got offers of $180,000.
FWIW - probably not too much
Not sure what to say about this article. However, it just embassasses me no end to see Penn State at the top of a list like this. And please don't take snipes at Pitt. We're not significantly below them, if you put any credibility in these numbers.
Andy Strube, a 717 guy, invents a stink bug trap! Wonder if he's a Penn Stater? Says in the video that he has had inquiries from Michigan and Oregon. Let's get Strube not to market the trap there. I envision LJ talking to a recruit, "Don't go to Michigan or Oregon, they have stinkbugs. We don't. We have traps in State College"!
Nice article by JayPa about oversigning football recruits.
With the big game just hours away, this is pretty interesting and amazing. All you engineers and techies will enjoy this. Actually, most football fans will enjoy this.
Check out their new basketball court design!
I've been thinking that part of the reason that we're "slow playing" this year's recruiting class is that JoePa wants the "New Guy" to have a few extra scholarships next year.
Just thought you'd be interested. John Karoly, his lawyer in his case against Penn State, just got convicted of tax evasion and will be doing some hard time. However, a new attorney has picked up the case.
This is very interesting. Is Fera history? And how did IU, Purdue and the others out that way pass on him. Guess we'll find out soon.
And he has some roots in PA.
Wow, she really had to overcome a lot.
Just some trivial info.
Thought it was interesting that the Hockey Bear's little sisters made a visit to the Keystone State recently. Alaska-Fairbanks' travel budget must be through the roof!
Sounds like he's a very coachable kid!
You have to read down through the Michigan recruiting BS to get to the article saying Paul Jones will enroll early at Penn State.
Note that they are argue that he would have been a 3-4th round pick in the NFL draft. He played like a 3-4th stringer on the Lions.
So, who do you believe. a punk defensive (maybe very defensive) back or a "law student". My guess they won't believe the law student!
WPIAL: Jones rallies Sto-Rox to win in first appearance of the year Penn State recruit Paul Jones, who missed the first two weeks with an injury suffered in the offseason, had a monster return to the gridiron for Sto-Rox, completing 20-of-34 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns – he was also picked off three times – in a come-from-behind 42-15 win over Quaker Valley. Sto-Rox trailed 15-8 at halftime but scored 34 unanswered second-half points, including 28 in the third quarter, as Jones threw a pair of scoring passes in the quarter.
Pittsburgh Post GazetteHow would he handle the RR controversy?
