I remember a day not too long ago when I looked forward to reading whatever Mania had to give me. Whether it be news or just the simple banter that most of us have become accustomed to after the years we have spent together. When we would debate back and forth in disagreement and actually may have learned a thing or two from each other. We went from insight and intelligence to 5th grade rhetoric. For every JeremyJackson we have 10 Danagos now and it fucking sucks! Hence my absence from here. Something needs to be done soon about these jack asses that have ruined our favorite site.This site is in need of an enema.

  It seems as us Maniacs are split among this touchy but relevant subject especially with the UFC'S light heavyweight divisions current state. People seem to hate the word "champion" being used when in fact it isn't referring to the actual "champion".

   Personally I see it as this: IT IS a five round #1 contender fight in all reality  and it provides a clear cut path to the next in line of the title. Although many like the idea of a 5 round contender fight (myself included) they hate the word champion being used in this case(myself excluded). The facts are that if you want to see a five round contender fight, as of now the only way to do so is for the reigning champ to be hurt. Despite popular belief Dana nor the UFC have control over this. I am sure they can provide some influence in the matter for future changes but they are NOT the governing body and Unified rules are pretty clear in this matter. They are as follows:

13:46-24A.11 Round length

 (a) Each non-championship mixed martial arts contest shall be three rounds, of five minutes duration, with a one minute rest period between each round.

 (b) Each championship mixed martial arts contest shall be five rounds, of five minutes duration, with a one minute rest period between each round.

     Dana nor the Brass at any promotion can just change the round length or the number of rounds for contender matches or any other matches for that matter. So for now it is a necessary evil. And I for one am not bothered by the title.

    One of the benefits and improvements of the "new" Mania vs. the old is the avenue of interaction. We now have the ability to post & discuss basically whatever the hell we want without fear of moderation and it is up to us if the topic at hand stays or goes. I for one have never used this medium so I choose this topic for my first.

     With the recent release of The Undisputed demo and the up coming  game I am noticing alot of gamers coming out of the wood work. We all have a little Geek in us ( c'mon we are bloggers) and some of us more than others. To those of us that do play I am making this thread so we can get get together , find out gamer tags and interact. Feel free to discuss any games regardless of platform or of so called relevance. Dragon101 and some others had a great idea of basically forming a Mania Team so to speak and here is where we can actually do it.
