Jameer Nelson

I saw a question about him in the Moscow recap, so I figured I'd make a post about him. I think it's safe to say you either love this guy, or think that the future NBA Champion Magic will not have him at PG.

I think that he shoots too much, does not defer to Dwight or Rashard enough, and gets burned far too often on defense. That being said, I think that SVG doesn't use him properly, and he does not get help from the Magic's revolving door at 2 both defensively and offensively.  I think that Lee will go a long way in alleviating the stress at the 2 guard. However, what do you think it will take for SVG to adopt a 50/50 split in playing time with Bogans, so Jameer is not being asked to carry the load so much? I certainly believe that with his skillset, he can be a major contributor to the team.

Blasphemous...or is it?

A question posed to the masses:

Evan Longoria is pressing right now, he's a rookie in his first postseason. I don't think this is a point up for debate. He has gone 1-16 with 8Ks since the impressive debut. His timing is still not there from the injury, as noted by TBS and any other casual observer. So the question...

Would you sit Longoria for game 2 (against a right handed stud in Beckett), and start Aybar at third, putting another left handed bat in the lineup, or would you allow Longoria to play through his struggling?

Fran Vazquez

Note: From the FanPosts - Ben

Hey guys, avid reader of the blog, finally joined up today.

To put it ignorantly, what is his deal? Can the Magic sign him for this year? Next year? Would they even want to? Was the hope when the Magic drafted him that he would develop for a year in Spain and then join the team? I remember being irate from the moment they drafted him.

This probably belongs in fan shots, are we sticklers for that rule here? I know at certain other Tampa Bay Rays related blogs, one of the admins will jump all over you.

Just a Little Common Sense

I go on to raysbaseball.com this morning fully intending to watch the replay of Floyd's homer 40-50 times to start my day off right, and I have to listen to the Wimpy or the Hawk, I don't know which one it was, tell me that Dewayne Wise catches the ball, oh wait he doesn't walk off home run. Horrible! How hard is it to put the winning team's feed up for walk off wins or game winning plays!?

Speaking of those two, I watched a game on WGN they were covering in Arizona a few years back, and they were absolutely silent for 5 outs. Dead air, you could hear the mitt popping with every pitch, and the crack of the bat for hits, but Wimpy or Hawk wouldn't say anything at all. I know I was reading about them being bad in an earlier post, but just wanted to throw my two cents in.
