I'm an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Green Bay Packers, and I live in Maine. I know it's weird. I'm a Celtics fan too, although I won't pretend to be die hard about basketball.

Almost posted this as a fanpost, but then I realized I don't really have anything to add, other than I love to see an up and coming O getting the credit he deserves. The O's get overlooked a lot in mainstream coverage, so its a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned.

Camden Chat Deadspin on Luke Scott

Deadspin on Luke Scott

So, after reading the ESPN article that was linked to the other day, I was left feeling pretty disturbed.  After thinking about it for a bit I came to the conclusion that I just don't like Luke Scott. I was never a huge fan of his anyway, but the comments about throwing plantains in Pie's helmet and calling him an animal pushed me over the edge. (Even if its benevolent, that's still racism.  Plenty of people over the years have been those fatherly kind of racists, and its no more excusable in my eyes) I was glad to see someone wrote something about it that was more critical; I don't really like Deadspin much anymore as I don't agree with some of their tactics, but Emma Carmichael writes some pretty good stuff, and I think this is worth looking at.

People don't like to hate on players on their own teams, as evidenced by all the love for Vick from Eagles fans, or Lakers fans love for Kobe, but when I don't usually have trouble.  Like, I'm a Packers fan and now I hate Brett Favre, and I can tell you its not because he played for the Vikings.  I still want Scott to do well obviously because he's an Oriole, but I sure wouldn't want to talk to him ever.

I'm curious to see how other people feel about it.

Acme Packing Company Aaron Rodgers getting some much deserved press

Aaron Rodgers on ESPN.com

Thought this might interest other fans here if you haven't seen it already.  It's fairly interesting, I don't read much about Rodgers in the national press despite him being an elite QB, so I was glad to see it.  I live in Maine and have felt that he hasn't gotten enough credit throughout the country in his first two years.  I'm happy to see that is changing.  Here's hoping for an even better 2010 season.

Camden Chat Eric Mack's Top 5 Prospects

Haven't posted one of these before, but I thought other people might like to see this. Over at CBS Sportsline Mack wrote a quick column on who he thought to be the top 5 prospects for potential June call ups.  At number 3 is Reimold, and at number 5 is Wieters.  His one honorable mention is none other than Chris Tillman.  50% of the players mentioned are Orioles, so it made me feel pretty good reading it.  He's writing from a fantasy perspective, but nonetheless.  Just thought others might be interested in reading this.
