Twins Meltdown?

The Twins lost yet again to the Yankees today, making it now 19 losses in  their last 22 games at Yankee Stadium. The 5-1 defeat also gave the Twins their fourth straight loss overall, dropping them 2.5 games back of the White Sox. During the game, the Twins showed their frustrations, via minnesotatwins.com:

Carlos Gomez snapped a bat over his leg after recording an out in the third inning. Nick Punto threw his helmet across the field after grounding into a double play in the fifth. And starter Glen Perkins verbally lashed out at Alexi Casilla after the second baseman forgot how many outs there were in the fifth inning -- a blunder that sent Minnesota into a tailspin.

The Twins are typically one of the more composed teams in the league. Maybe the Twinkies are starting to realize that they're not that good. Or maybe it was just because it's hot as balls in NYC. Either way, it was fun to watch.

White Sox Interested in Huston Street?

Apparently the Sox have shown interest in Oakland closer Huston Street. Perhaps trading for a starter should be a bigger priority right now, and the Sox might not have what it takes to get Street, but it's always good to know that KW is trying. According to Foxsports.com's Ken Rosenthal:

The Mets, White Sox, Dodgers and Brewers have all expressed varying degrees of interest in A's reliever Huston Street. The Mets and White Sox probably do not match up with the A's, and the Dodgers are more focused on their pursuit of a shortstop.
