Padres Acquire Jason Bartlett from the Devil Rays

I really like this trade! Good shortstop for PETCO, I think us giving up Cesar Ramos and Adam Russell isn't going to hurt us too bad. I'm really excited to see what Jason can do! What do you guys think of this? Where do we go for 2B and 1B? We still need to pick up another few pitchers. So boo yah and 75 words here we come!

MLB Trade Rumors on Adrian Gonzalez
Red Sox, Padres Talking Adrian Gonzalez Trade
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [December 3, 2010 at 4:46pm CST]
The Red Sox and Padres are discussing a potential trade that would send Adrian Gonzalezto Boston, according to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com. Red Sox GM Theo Epstein appears to be making "some headway" in tempting Padres GM Jed Hoyer with a package of top prospects, Edes reports.
The proposed deal would include minor league players only. Hoyer, new assistant Josh Byrnes and Padres exec Jason McLeod are all former Red Sox executives, so they know the team's system well. Other clubs also have strong interest in the first baseman.
I dont know if this holds any weight since last year same thing happened
Maybe I'm jumping the gun but...
I'm a little mad that Chargers have not had much of an offseason with picking up talent. I recognize that we may be concentrating on something for the draft and it's important to draft the right players...but. I just don't see how we can sit by and let Kansas City, Oakland, and Denver beef up their defenses while we lose players. Not saying that I don't think we will not be back at the top of the division because we all know Russell, Cassell, and Orton are not premier quarterbacks, but their defenses can put a hold on a good offense.
I think I would just like to see Chargers go out and pursue some names out there. I know we picked up a nickel CB in Strickland and I like that, but lets make some noise in the defensive line or offensive line category. By this point, I would think we are out to get a RB in the draft and I like that there is enough depth to get one. Maybe I'm just blowing hot air, but after losing Cro, LT, Osgood, and JWall, I have seen these other teams especially KC go out and hit the market hard. I do hope Cardinals sign Whitehurst!
GO CHARGERS!
