CC claims Clutch Performer award
Left-handed hurler dazzled down the stretch for Brewers

because that's the only CC on the brewers that I can think of other than Craig Counsell, and I wouldn't describe him as a hurler other than after the WC clinching victory party! He bats left so maybe it is him afterall.

Well, it's officially the post-season now for the Brewers faithful. As selfish homers, those like me can safely ignore what happens from here on out in the playoffs, as none of those teams include the Brewers (or for that matter, the Cubs).

In any case, I thought I'd get together a Post to sort out where I think we stand as well as to open it up to discussion for other BrewCrewBall'ers.

I'll go through this discussion position-by-position (rather than individual-by-individual).

Who do you think will be back next season? Who do you think we should sign off the free-agent market? Who should we trade away and trade for? Who should we unceremoniously toss by the side of the road, existing contract to be paid and all?

Please reply in the thread under each position.

The quotes of CcC (not to be confused with CC or C.C.) quoted don't seem to indicate that he had a problem with Bud's decision, but that's the author's take.

In any case, anyone know what else Cecil may have said?

Cole Hamels (3.20 ERA 11-8) vs Ryan Dempster (2.85 ERA 15-5)

I'd say the Phillies have about a 30% chance of an upset at Chicago, but here's praying for a miracle!

Gametime is 7:05 Central (as in now)

Pitchers' Hitting Streak Ends

The Milwaukee Brewers pitchers had hits in every game from Sat July 12th to Mon July 21st. That's a streak of 6 games. Unfortunately that streak is no longer.

However, CC Sabathia has a two game hitting streak going of his own. Perhaps he'd have a <strike>3</strike> 4+ game hitting streak, but he was pulled in his first game as a Brewer after a "mere" 6 innings, cheating him of at least one AB (and Joe Dillon DID get a pinch hit for David Riske in that game). In his previous and only other hitting-eligible game (6/21 Cleveland vs the LA Dodgers) he was 1 for 3 with a homerun in 7 innings of work.

I would have to confirm this by going back to last years' games, but seeing as I'm too lazy for that, let me make the grandiose claim that if CC works for 6 2/3 inning or longer, he will get a hit.

Question from a Visiting Team's Fan

Hi there. I currently live in the Sacramento area, but I've been a lifelong Brewers fan. So, I'd like to come out to catch a game this weekend, and will probably come to the Saturday afternoon game.

The question I have is do Giants games often sellout certain price ranges? Am I best getting a ticket in advance or showing up on gameday? Would I be likely to have better luck with the box office or scalpers if I show up on the day of the game without a ticket?

The matchup is Sheets vs Sanchez and the game is at 1PM on Saturday, if that has any impact on attendance.

Thanks much
