Flames Hire Bob Hartley as New Head Coach

Not would I would have done but with his deep ties to Feaster he was always the likely choice. Welcome aboard Bob, may your tenure be filled with success.

Morrison Traded To 'Hawks

For AHL Defenseman Brian Connelly... ... I'm not displeased. I thought resigning BMo was a mistake getting a youngish D-man who has had success at the AHL level seems like a fair return.

10 Questions with Brett Lawrie

Most interesting bit is that they (as expected I would think) have him working out at Third Base.

Boom Goes The Dynamite - D. Sutter Steps Down

Breaking Now. Jay Feaster has been appointed Acting General Manager and will assume full and complete responsibilities for day to day hockey operations. ______________________________________ I really hope that Feaster isn't the long-term solution. While I'm happy to see Daz gone Feaster is no less yesterdays man then Darryl was. So I hope he being acting GM is just a short-term deal while they begin the search and interview process.

Players Eligible for the 2010 Rule 5 Draft

See the link for other teams (anybody worth taking a flyer on from other teams?)... Blue Jays are: Brad Emaus, Adam Loewen, Jonathan Diaz, Adam Calderone, Randy Boone, Luis Sanchez, B.J. Lamura, Dumas Garcia, Ricardo Nanita, Callix Crabbe, Vince Bongiovanni, Jamie Vermillya, Scott Campbell, Al Quintana, Danny Perales, Ronald Uviedo, Matt Liuzza, Chad Beck, C.J. Ebarb, Concepcion Rodriguez, Sean Shoffit, Juan Hernandez, Frank Gailey

Flames Extend Giordano

No dollar terms yet. Edit: Lebrun says 4.02M/5 Years _______________________________________________ I'm gonna be honest, I would have hoped for a bit more value given the length of the term.

Gaelan Patterson Signs ELC with Flames

Like the title says. Nice to get a player in the last round of the draft that you deem worthy of a professional contract.

Flames Sign Bryan Cameron

The Flames have agreed to terms with overage centre Bryan Cameron, of the Barrie Colts. Cameron, 21, led the Ontario Hockey League in goals this season with 53. The five-foot-10, 175-pounder also chipped in 25 assists for 78 points in 62 games. ________________________________________________ This is the kind of move I really like. At worst you have organizational depth for the farm team and at best you find yourself a diamond in the rough ala Giordano. If he makes it he'll have a long road to the NHL to be sure but it's a low risk move for now.

Flames Recall Brett Sutter

As Per the Calgary Flames Official Site. Gee, sure would have been nice to have not traded Dustin Boyd for magic beans or lost Jaime Lundmark on waivers... guess it was more important to pay McG to...

Keep an eye on these college free agents

Interesting piece on (Well... interesting to me since I don't follow NCAA hockey). Far be it for me to recommend copying Brian Burke but considering the lack of Top 60 picks the Flames have over the next few yeas (and overall weakness in the prospect pool at forward) I think Sutter would be a fool to not try and Woo guys like these ala Bozak and Hanson.

Glencross Sidelined

Hope Curtis isn't gone too long. I really like what he brings on the PK and how much he improves the lower half of the forward roster. Backlund in for Conroy, Conroy down to the 4th would be my guess on the immediate impact to the line-up but my thoughts and Sutter thoughts don't synch very often so we'll see.

AHL Weekly: Heat showing no signs of cooling

Clearly more injuries is the secret to their success...?

Backlund named AHL Player of the Week

Heard on CP he was called up to the big squad. Better hope the plaque/trophy doesn't get broken in the mail.

Flames Top 20 Prospects

Since Kent is being uncharacteristically non-toot-my-own-hornish I guess I'll be the one to throw up his article at HF.

Lundmark on Waivers

So sayith Bob McKenzie. Also up on waivers Cheechoo (That's a hefty AHL price tag) and May.

Flames Recall Mikael Backlund

As per Boomer. Beats playing Sjostrom in a scoring role I guess.

Kronwall Waived, Lundmark Reassigned to Abbotsford

The Sources: Bob McKenzie Twitter feed on the Kronwall Waiver, The Flames official site on the Lundmark reassignment.   Meanwhile the Flames assigned Jamie Lundmark to Abbotsford of the AHL....

From the Calgary Flames Newsroom at Flames Recall Jaime Lundmark Calgary, AB -...

From the Calgary Flames Newsroom at Flames Recall Jaime Lundmark Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today that forward Jamie Lundmark has been recalled from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Lundmark is second in scoring on the Abbotsford Heat with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 32 games and 64 penalty minutes.
