Bring It On Boston
After finally watching game 7, I find it insufferable how this team acts. Congratulations, you got out of the first round, act like you've been there before. KG has already turned into my least favorite player in the league, I've never seen a player get away with being so disrespectful to other players just because he's "passionate" or "that's just KG being KG." Sit down on the bench and watch the game, don't get up and scream at opposing players; everyone knows anyway that when someone actually gets in your face you back down like a coward. And this team should be thankful David Stern gave them a Christmas present by keeping Rondo in the game, I still don't know how any fan can defend that play and say that he deserved to play and Dwight Howard didn't. The NBA: Where The Hegemony Of Big Markets Happens.
I'm almost glad that we get to play Boston, I know the media is going to say the Celtics will win but I don't think they remember that we won 58 games this year, and at one point were the best team in the NBA. People were getting way too emotionally invested in Boston/Chicago that because this series was played with such high intensity it somehow meant that Orlando couldn't play at that level. As many excuses as Boston likes to throw out, you were playing a 7 seed who was also without one of their best players. And as much as I miss Jameer, it's not like after every loss I sit in my room and cry because he's not there, injuries happen and you adjust. Last time I checked, Boston still has 4/5 of their starting lineup, so quit complaining.
We beat Philly without him, Dwight, and Courtney Lee in Philadelphia, yet it was largely ignored because "Philly wasn't supposed to beat us anyway". Why is there such a double standard with us compared to Boston when it comes to injuries and expectations? It drives me crazy that we had an all-star point guard get injured and yet whenever the show us playing its an afterthought. But oh no, KG is out, Boston is so courageous for winning without him! Sports media is heading in the wrong direction; the distribution of information between lower and higher market teams is becoming absurd. Just try and find a general basketball article on ESPN that doesn't involve Lebron or Kobe or D-Wade- it's impossible. I hardly read anything about guys like Kevin Durant or Kevin Martin, and it's a shame. I'm oversaturated with the same star stroking, and I'm tired of it.
When this series starts in Boston, I just hope that there are no excuses, that both teams come out and play with intensity, and most importantly that whoever wins be be applauded for playing the best basketball, not be subject to having a pity party because of the present circumstances. Let the best team win. And Go Magic!
3QC Playoff Get-together
Well erivera suggested making a fanpost, so I'm bored and might as well do it. I feel like we have a fun group of people here, and since a lot of us are actually in Orlando we should definitely try and either get together to watch a game or actually go to one, seeing as tickets aren't too expensive (I sat against the wall last year and had a blast). Anyway, I'm just posting this to see if we can actually organize something, granted I have finals next week but I only have 1 actual final so it won't be that bad. So what do ya'll think we should do?
-Pick a bar/restaurant/etc. and watch the game while imbibing in some fine liquors?
-Purchase some really cheap seats somewhere androot our Magic on in person?
-Or be lazy and not do anything and just blame it on Squid or something.
Granted, if you have any more suggestions, feel free to post them, I'm sort of just rambling on at this point, but let's see if we can get this done. My hands hurt from all the forum messaging anyway...

Hey Everyone
I've been reading this blog for quite some time and figured I would finally get involved (Great writing Ben!). I'm from St. Pete but have been living in the big O the past few years, and I love everything about our team (Let's forget the Steve Francis days.) Just wanted to give out a hearty hello, I figure being an English major I should actually practice writing once in a while. Anyway, time to end the ramblings, go Magic!
