I am probably the lone Cardinals fan from Guatemala (I'll give you 5 bucks if you know where that is...) I bleed Cardinal blood, I breathe Cardinal oxygen and I practically wake up to see every single game on MLB.TV! GO CARDS!!

7 Baseball Sites As Written by VEB'ers
So, as always, I woke up today, walked over to my desk and turned my computer on. I started my usual journey of internet scouring, trying to find something to break the monotony of the week.
And the first thing I glanced upon was Twitter. LaRussa had just tweeted something... rather disturbing. Yeah, I know, I couldn't believe it either:
Original Site: http://twitter.com/#!/TonyLaRussa
I assumed I was still drowzy from the little sleep I got, so decided to carry on and check out the beloved P-D. I stumled upon this unread article from earlier this month. Seems like Brendan was traded for annoying fellow players. I just never thought Holliday would be so blatant about it:
Original story: Here
I went over to the Cardinals Home Page and see if I could fint that story somewhere else. So, I looked up any article that included swear words, and came upon this:
Original Story: Here
When I am done venturing the Cardinals Home Page, I tend to go over to MLB.com. So, naturally, I did that and was suprised to see this on the home page:
Original: Today's www.mlb.com homepage
I went ahead and clicked on the "$$$" team, below the AL East Division to see what the Yankees were up to. And then, I was amazed at the following story: (BTW, if I mock Latinos, it's not racist. It's the one thing we can do, besides mow your lawn and raise your kids: Mock ourselves)
Original: Here
I went over here to VEB to read today's post and share some of the amazing articles and tweets I had found. However, I was distracted by this completely agreeable and reasonable fanpost. Never has DanUp made so much sense:
Original: Today's www.vivaelbirdos.com Home Page.
I had an assignment for a University class so I had to log on to CNN and read an article. Instead, I found what might be the greates book ever... (So I decided to make my first mysterui's mom joke. I realize it's a bit uncalled for. But, I guess "when you're in Rome..." Also, apologies on the typos)
Original: Today's CNN Home Page
I realized this was an odd day, as if it was written by Viva El Birdos regulars, and it was probably never going to repeat itself. So I took a picture of each and every one of the articles I read and decided to share with you. I am sure you will be as apalled as I am.
(NOTE: This was actually made with a firefox add-on I recently learned how to use. I guess I decided to have a little fun with it and create this fanpost. If you want to try it, and freak the hell out of people you know, it is called firebug and it's very simple and easy to use. I hope I made you laugh with this, because I certainly had fun doing it.)
EDIT: The third paragraph in the Cashman article was modified. I don't know how that slipped by me.

Rotation Ramblings: What a Rotation Should Look Like and How to Get There
Have you ever woken up with one strong thought in your mind? And even though you try to look busy and focus your mind on something else, that lingering thought remains? Well, that happened to me today. I was thinking about consistency. I remembered the 2005 St. Louis Cardinals rotation. I remembered how I could always tell who was pitching the next day, without looking at the probables. I guess that's what a rotation is all about, huh? Go from No. 1 to No. 5 and then back to No. 1. Not this shuffling and improvising of starters we have been accustomed to seeing. We had it all. We had excellent guys, good guys and OK guys who could get the job done. Heck, we even had a Silver Slugger amongst them. They placed the team in a position to win on a consistent basis.

World Series Vegas Odds
I know Cardinals defy the odds, but I thought this was quite interesting. I just hope this does not qualify as GOB tempting!
Ankiel's Future Might Not Be With Birds
Seems like the Cardinals have no interest in preventing Rick Ankiel's free agency and the Pirates and Reds have interest in him. Your thoughts?
This Week in Cardinal Baseball
We are facing some tough pitchers this week. I surely hope we can keep the wins coming, but we'll need to have our offense clicking!
Yadi gives P.R. the lead!
I don't know about you but that Puerto Rico-Netherlands game has me quite excited. Our Yadi just hit a two run double to give P.R. the lead and he just looks as happy as when he hit that HR to give us the lead in Game 7 against the Mets in '06. Nice going Yadi, keep it up!
MLB Network On Pujols Happiness
You thoughts? I honestly trust more the VEB community than those guys. IMO, Pujols was simply saying that IF and only IF this team shows abosolutely NO desire to win, he is out. Yet again, us Cards are almost always in the hunt... But Im a rookie at this, so Im trusting your expert opinion.
6 File For FA
So, as you might have heard, on the first day that players can test the free agent market, 6 of our own filed for FA. 3 pitchers and 3 position players will be fishing for other teams in the upcoming (or current) posteseason. We do however have exclusive rights of dealing with theses players until November 14th, date until which we can re-sign any of the players. So, which one(s) do you think will be resigned?
Closing It Out With a Laugh
Well, the 2008 Cardinal season ended today in Skip Schumaker's glove. A season of exciting early-inning rallies, surprising HR totals, and frustrating bullpen appearances. But all in all, it was a good season in the end. And as I find time in my Sunday night to recall this season's best, worst and most bizarre moments, I'll do my best to try to close out the season with a laugh. Here I present the 2008 Cardinal team "And You Thought You Knew" moments:
1. Right after Jason Isringhausen bought the motorized cooler for the bullpen, TLR thought it would be a great idea for home so he bought one. He said, and I quote: "I like the idea of the cooler on wheels. I just don't feel like filling it with energy drinks." I think you now know why he got a 3rd DUI
2. If Cesar Izturis batted in the 3rd spot in the lineup, Chris Young would still be pitching today...
3. After the bullpen's 25th blown save, Mo said on the post-game conference: "We are now in negotiations with opposing teams to bring a quality arm to aid our bullpen." Unluckily, the Jets beat us and signed Favre...
4. Al Hrabosky is facing a lawsuit for throwing a peanut bag to an angry Cubs fan.
5. Juan Encarnacion is currently under negotiations to play with the Pirates... (Lord, I apologize for that)
6. Scott Spiezio also bought a motorized cooler.
7. If Yadier Molina batted in the 3rd spot in the lineup, Josh Bard would be dead...
8. Anthony Reyes reminded us that you don't have to be good to be called a prospect... Colby Rasmus, we all hope you are not the case...
9. Rick Ankiel's second outfield assist in Colorado killed a bird in its trajectory.
10. After Ted Lilly ran over Yadier Molina at home plate, our beloved catcher said in his native language: "Ese flaco me saco la mierda. Voy a buscar a su familia y tendre revancha", which translated verbally spells: "Ouch! That hurt!"
11. Chris Duncan and Skip Schumaker worked hard to not let Cardinal fans forget another can't-hit-lefties outfielder. We sure miss you Jimmy.
12. Our astounding record against the Brewers reminded us that it is NOT pleasant to see Prince Fielder untucking his shirt...
13. Our bullpen losses, blown saves and Zambrano's no-hitter proved to be very profficient for St. Louis' Anger Management Facilities.
14. Mozeliak went 1-for-4 in his "rehabbing pitchers" plate appearances. His lone hit was Josh Kinney...
15. This October will be much like last year for Cardinal fans as we will grab a beer, turn our TV sets on, switch over to FSN or ESPN and hope or pray that someone, anyone beat the crap out of the Cubs in post season play!
I do hope you enjoyed my comedy (If you can call that that). Great run Cards. To our offense Kudos. To our starters Kudos. To our bullpen... Yadi has a message to you: " Voy a buscar a su familia y tendre revancha".
Thanks, cheers, go cards!
