I started with the New York Mets 28 teams and my system looks like this...

Wilmer Flores

Shelby Miller (STL)

Ryan Westmoreland (BOS)

Josh Thole

Ruben Tejada

Brandon Erbe (BAL)

Mike Carp

Juan Carlos Sulbaran (CIN)

Blake Beavan (TEX)

Robert Carson

Jeurys Famalia

Kirk Nieuwenhuis

Kyle Allen

Eric Beaulac

Scott Moviel

Pete Hissey (BOS)

Brandon Waring (BAL)

Josh Ravin (CIN)

Alexis Oliveras (CIN)

Brant Rustich

Cristian Santana (TEX)

Than a bunch of other Mets guys who aren't that good. So is it good because I am thinking of trading David Wright since my major league team sucks so much thanks to the injuries and restocking even more.

I do not know that much about mechanics, but i'm pretty sure this is what the W looks like. Can someone confirm or deny if this is the W? If it is that kinda sucks.

1. Fernando Martinez (1)

2. Wilmer Flores (2)

3. Brad Holt (4)

4. Jon Niese (3)

5. Jenrry Mejia (8)

6. Ike Davis (10)

7. Reese Havens (6)

8. Jefry Marte (6)

9. Josh Thole (NR)

10. Ruben Tejada (18)

11. Dillon Gee (11)

12. Jeurys Familia (NR)

13. Jordany Valdespin (NR)

14. Robert Carson (NR)

15. Scott Shaw (15)

16. Brant Rustich (17)

17. Cesar Puello (14)

18. Eddie Kunz (13)

19. Sean Ratliff (NR)

20. Eric Beaulac (19)

...I was tempted to move Mejia in front of Niese but decided not to. Tejada getting his avg over .280 as a 19 year old in AA when he should be playing in A+ with great defense is looking really promising and a lot of high ceiling guys have been putting up great stats (Familia, Carson, Valdespin) earning a spot on the list

Mets 2007 1s Pick Calls it Quits?

Toby Hyde's Mets Minor League Blog

The rumor making the rounds on the internet is that LHP Nathan Vineyard has retired. The Mets picked Vineyard out of GA HS in the supplemental first round, 42nd overall in 2007. Vineyard pitched just two games in 2008 for the Savannah Sand Gnats before shutting it down for shoulder surgery.

I believe I’ve found the origin of the rumor with a hattip to reader Darin. Over at Scout.com, the site administrator wrote in a message board post:

Vineyard did “retire” or quit, whatever you want to call it so early in a career.

Maybe he returns down the road, but for now, he’s out of the system.

…..
I found this out from my sources.

The author then follows that up with this:

I’ll have to leave it at this, but all I can say is Vineyard’s departure from the organization was not because the kid couldn’t pitch.

This is clearly unconfirmed, but now I’m inclined to believe that Vineyard will not be at Spring Training in 2009. … Still looking for official confirmation.

I had pretty high hopes for Vineyard so if this is true it kind of sucks he had #3 potential, but was most likely going to be a #4

Jon Niese

I was just wondering what you guys think about Jon Niese. He has flown under the radar and seems to be exremely underrated. I think he has the potential to be a #3 or possibly #2 starter in the majors. It isn't all about all about velocitu even though his isnt that bad (90-92), has a great curve 12-6, and inconsistent change-up so I see no reason why he can't turn out like an Andy Pettitte or good Barry Zito. What are your thoughts?

Here are his stats.
