Pinstripe Alley Posada talks about his favorite pitchers

How awesome is this? I'm surprised he doesn't mention Randy Johnson at all, maybe it's cause he didn't have his good stuff anymore when he came to the Yankees.  I love how he talks about being in sync with David Wells and being afraid of David Cone.  Also: Irabu? Farnsworth?  I guess it takes more than heat to become an above average pitcher.  It's rare that I get to read Jorge talk about the guys he caught for.  You can almost sense a tinge of nostalgia and geekdom as he lists all the great pitchers and their different preferences and temperament.  All in all, a very cool read.

Pinstripe Alley Yankees on Film and TV

After seeing that wickedly awesome Derek Jeter plays a bum in a movie photo, I thought of the many times the Yankees have been shown on various movies and tv shows.

So in this post, feel free to discuss your favorite TV and movies moments that are about the Yankees or those that star former or current players.

As for me, may favorites are (in no specific order):

1) Roger Clemens pitching to Ty Cobb in "Cobb".

2) George Costanza teaching Jeter and Bernie how to swing. (Jeter: "Hey, we won the World Series"... George(unimpressed):"in six games")

3) Kramer asking Paul O'Neill to hit two homers.

4) Jeter and other Yankees playing drag on SNL.

And my favorite...

5) '97 Joe Girardi putting the moves on Biff at the movies while watching Titanic.

I'm sure I forgot a lot, there are just the ones that are popping up in my head right now.  If you can remember anything else or if you got good ones you can recommend.  Feel free to post.  I could certainly use the movie or TV suggestions as I'm propped up on my couch with a sore back.

Pinstripe Alley Your All '00 Yankees

My first SB Nation and Pinstripe Alley Fanpost! Yey!

I thought it would be nice to contribute to a site that has given me a lot of entertaining reads over the last few months.  This Yankees blog has the most well informed regulars that I feel like I'm learning more and more about baseball just by browsing through the articles and the comments section.  Anyway, I thought if I was going to start up a discussion, it might as well be about something fun and addictive and for me, it always comes down to making lists.

My buddy and I started talking about who the all decade Yankee team should be.  Next thing you know, we've been talking and arguing over all the spots for 6 hours.  Time flies when you're talking about the Yankees, it seems.

So here's the ground rules.  Pick and choose from every Yankee from 2000 to 2009.  Playoff line up applies so it's a 25 man team. 9 offensive starters, 4 starting pitchers, then split the remaining 12 with relievers and bench players.  You can just load it up with players you like or you can think carefully on every position player you need (pinch runner, long man, etc).  And it's up to you on what you want to prioritize (someone who won a championship or someone who had a long productive service).  My buddy put Sabathia over Mussina cause CC won a title, but I went with Mike cause he produced over a longer period of time. You can include good chemistry guys like Swish or someone who's produced in clutch situations like Aaron Boone or just your favorite random player like Cervelli. It's up to you.

Enjoy the discussion and thanks again for being such an entertaining and informative site.
