I like the Dalai Lama. I don't like Larry Johnson. I'd rather have Larry Johnson running the football for me.
The nice thing about this particular case, though, is that Johnson is neither a nice guy or a productive running back, so his benching would seem to suit everyone. He's currently picking up 2.7 yards per carry and has no touchdowns. Backup Jamaal Charles, meanwhile, has averaged a 5.0-yard gain on his 23 carries this year. So whether you see it my way, or the way of the petition signers, benching Larry Johnson seems to be the right thing to do.

The great Draft Debate
I cant believe its not even November yet and we're talking about the draft. But its got me thinking alot now too. A popular topic has been the choice between drafting Berry or Mays if possible, or drafting OL.
OL is THE MOST IMPORTANT position on the ENTIRE football team.
But playmakers are important on defense as well. So this is my arguement, for both sides.

Dorsey on trade block?
Someone over at this ATL Falcons message board says he heard on NFL Network that Glenn Dorsey is on the trade block. Is there any validity to this? I've looked and looked and couldnt find a source or anything like that, so I dont think it's true. I wouldnt want it to be..I think Dorsey is becoming a good player. Id hate to see us trade him away and watch him continue to improve and become a superstar.

Just because you see it coming doesnt make it less painful to watch
Its the 3rd quarter against Philly. We're gettin dominated on both sides of the ball.
Chiefs fans...this is ugly. We all knew this season was going to be a tough season. We all thought we would beat Oakland last week and atleast get a win early in the season. But it didnt happen.
Then, we found out McNabb and Westbrook are sitting out. Good news. But with all good news, theres bad news. No DBowe.
We are killing ourselves with penalties. Everytime we get a good play, its called back on a penalty. Atleast 2 or 3 good runs have been called back for holding. A sack was called back after a facemask.
As a die hard fan, I'll never give up on them and never lose hope. But man. This is so hard to watch. I dont know how to handle it. Does anyone really think we can upset NYG or DAL? I dont. I'm afraid that by the time we get to the easy part of the schedule, our team is going to be down and out. this is ugly. Terrible. The OL..all of them should be canned. Albert is NOT having a good year. Hes been good on a terrible OL and good is an overstatement. Our OL is killing us with penalties, Cassel cant get time to throw and even when he has time to throw, nobody can get open.
I predicted 8-8. I said 6-10 at the least. But I'm having a hard time seeing more than 4 wins. But I'm such an optimistic fan, I still think we can get 6 wins. But I need something. All these 3 and outs. Punts. Turnovers. I'm going crazy.
So. What can we do to ease the frustration of watching us get creamed? We all knew this was coming. We tried to kid ourselves bc we're loyal fans. But lets be real. This team is bad. real bad. And even if it was in the back of our heads, we all saw this coming. And its a painful..frustrating thing to watch.

Isn't it funny how so many of us said "No need for TG, Haley/Pioli dont use receiving TE's". Yet, now its our TE's not catching the ball that seems to be a problem.

My favorite time of the year. Predictions!
In years past, I have not been a member of Arrowhead Pride. Normally, I would make my predictions, save them, maybe share them with a few friends. Mid-season, I plan on re-visiting my predictions, and making adjustments for the final 8 games of the season. If we were to make the playoffs, I would then make a final prediction of the playoffs.
The joy this year, is I can post it ONLINE, with anybody who cares to read it. It'll be alot easier to find in the future, which is good for me. I actually posted predictions earlier this offseason, So I will be digging those up and making the necessary changes. We'll get into that later.
To start the post, I'm going to visit the positions for my thoughts for some positions.
Matt Cassel. Its hard to figure out how good the is considering how little we saw him in Preseason. I have a feeling its going to be a tough year for him because of many things that happened this offseason. Not having an OL to protect him is the biggest problem. The shit Todd Haley has pulled with the WR's and the depth chart has kept Cassel from working with his primary receivers for an extended time. Its important that they get reps in the offseason to help get timing down. I expect Cassel to see success, but it wont be without some failures as well. 3000+ yards, 20+TDs and under 15 INT's would be a good season for him, IMO. *Edit* He only threw 19 passes throughout preseason. Will this hurt him?*

Changes
After the terrible play of the Offensive Line, I've had a few conversations with several friends and fans. I was at the Seahawks game and actually talked about a few things with a guy sitting a row in front of me. Both of us shared the opinion that we COULD make changes to the OL without bringing anyone in that might actually help.
Now, we're both of the opinion that we NEED to bring someone in, but that doesnt mean someone is available. So my thoughts on the OL after the jump..

Interesting
So I was sitting here reading Matt Connor's post "Why The Chiefs' Best Hope Is Not Even On The Team" (sorry I didn't link it, I'm in a bit of a hurry.) and I was commenting on JacinB's comment that we would not reach the playoffs this year. What started as a simple thought quickly turned into an in depth research frenzy. My first thought was, nobody can know if we will make the playoffs or not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I agree with JacinB's opinion that we will not make the playoffs, however, it is unfair to say that we can't or won't, when the season hasnt even started yet. NONE of us KNOW, we all just THINK and base our predictions on certain reasoning. My first thought was, nobody outside Miami thought they would make it to the playoffs after 2007's 1-15 season. But Miami was buzzing buzzing buzzing and sure enough, they became a good team and made the playoffs. How much is Miami's 2007 team like the Chiefs 2008 team? What was Miami's 2007 season like, and what changes in the offseason leading to 2008 did they make, and how much like the 2008 entering 2009 Chiefs were they? Find out after the jump..
