MMAmania.com Picking on a little bag at UFC 128

Picking on a little bag (via dan2bhm)

Video my buddy took of me from the Prudential Center at UFC 128 hitting one of those punching machines.

My first punch is hideous.  I kind of got pressured into it by my buddies, so needless to say I was nervous and neglected fundamentals.  I didn't set my feet, rushed the punch, and barely hit the bag.

The punches that followed were devastating.  The record was 880....

I know this probably should have been a fanshot, but I couldn't get it to work

MMAmania.com Pat Barry vs Fat Guy (Joe Ruiz)

Barry-served2_medium

Here is a video Pat Barry posted on his Twitter of him rolling with some 350 pound guy.  For those of you who have never rolled with a guy this size, let me tell you, it sucks.  Not just because their weight and belly is a weapon (see:  Roy Nelson), but rolling with a fat sweaty man who decides not to wear at least a rash guard is down right disgusting.  Enjoy.  Pat at least looks like he's trying to use some good technique, but it's tough to pull off with a guy that size on you.

MMAmania.com Rousimar Palhares Apologizes for UFC Fight Night 22 Greasing Accusations

Ufc0036_medium

This is my first FanPost and I'm at work so I'll keep it short.  Besides, I hate reading the long ones.

MMA Junkie is reporting that Palhares has apologized for his actions at Wednesday night's UFC Fight Night 22 Card.

Rousimar, and members of his team go on to say that "He should have never stopped, Nate won fair and square and did exactly what he should have.  Rousimar knows it's imperative to protect yourself at all times, and he failed to do that."

It seems that the issue of greasing is something that will not go away and doesn't have an easy fix.  Until UFC 94 I was unaware that this was something that has, or had been going on for quite some time.  Anyone who has had any discussions with me on this site knows that I am a huge GSP fan and am notoriously oversensitive to this topic.  I hate cheaters.  Everyone who's ever played a sport probably hates cheaters, unless they're the ones doing it.

What are your thoughts Maniacs?  Did Rousimar step in the ring with a preconceived idea, expecting that Nate would grease?  Or are Rousimar's feelings based on his own experience dealing with cheaters in the past who have greased?

Furthermore, what can be done to stop greasers?  I've read suggestions on how to repair this ranging from the totally ridiculous, showering before fights; to the sensible, toweling the fighter off before the fight and in between rounds.  So again, sound off Maniacs what can be done to stop these infractions from happening all together?
