Roll 'Bama Roll Bobby Humphrey, a class act

I couldn't be happier with the level of comaraderie  down in Tuscaloosa. Mark Ingram is fast approaching Alabama's single season rushing record and the current record holder, Bobby Humphrey has nothing but good things to say about his potential successor. To all the cynics out there, Tide players still put the team first and the personal records at the bottom of the list. Way to set a great example Bobby.

Maize n Brew Dr. Billy Taylor Diagnosis

It hurts to hear criticism, but when its accurate there's no denying the validity of it. At least Dr. Billy is optimistic about next year. He's also not quitting on Rich Rod but says there needs to be greater improvement or the administration will cut ties. I think the Dr. speaks for all of Maize n Blue nation when he says that its time for the Wolverines to "get back up."

Building The Dam Mike Riley, homegrown winner

The Riley name is synonymous with coaching success in Corvallis. Mike, the son of former Beaver Assistant coach Bud Riley decided to go elsewhere for college. He was lucky enough to play under one of the best college coaches in the history of the sport, Paul "Bear" Bryant. Obviously, some of the Bear's winning ways rubbed off on Riley. Check out the link to see Riley as a player at Alabama.

House Of Sparky Erickson the athlete

It is common knowledge that Dennis Erickson has been coaching longer than man has had the use of fire and has been up and down between the pros and college ranks more times than a see saw. What I somehow managed to overlook for many years is that he was a football player before he even thought of roaming the sidelines. He wasn't too shabby of a QB. Check out his player profile at the link below.

Conquest Chronicles Coach Carroll is the "Mane!"

Its mystifying how a laid back guy like Pete Carroll connects with his players while maintaining some authority. I guess he learned a lot during his playing days about give and take.

That picture of him explains it all. I'm sure it was just a sign of the times. Pretty solid player player. He didn't go pro but he didn't have to. He has brought plenty of success to the Trojan nation. You da mane Pete!

Maize n Brew Jarrett Irons on 2009 football season

It comes as no surprise that many Wolverine fans are disappointed with the 2009 football season. Some alums, however, feel a positive approach is a better way to look at the situation. In a podcast featured on lostLettermen.com, former Michigan All-American linebacker Jarrett Irons gives his assessment of the young team and imparts some thoughtful wisdom to the senior class.

BC Interruption 25th Anniversary of "Hail Flutie"

All Eagles fans are familiar with the infamous game-winning pass QB Doug Flutie threw against Miami, but what are those athletes up to these days? Check out this link for a brief update on the lives of players from that 1984 team like BC receiver Gerald Phelan who caught the pass and BC center Jack Bicknell, Jr., son of Eagles coach Jack Bicknell, Sr. Bet you can't guess what he's doing for a living.
