The Phinsider The Winds of Change...Near or Far?

Well guys I have to admit....that after watching last nights game, I was frustrated. I was frustrated at Tony Sparano, I was frustrated with our O-line, I was frustrated with Daboll, and most of all, I was pissed because my whole family's Cowboys fans. Who of course, proceeded to rub their win in my face. Trust me, its a little strange being a Dolphins fan in New Mexico. Don't get me started on how many god damn Broncos fans yell at me "COMEBACK!!" at school when they see me. When you live in the Southwest and you tell someone you like the Dolphins, usually their first reaction is..."Oh...well they suck." And using the 72' season as a comeback gets old......so I must ask you today my fellow fans...When will the winds of change blow our way?

The Offseason of 2007-2008

I am going to go back in time a bit....remember these days? When we all thought these next few years we would be rehab from the 07' season? Yes, well we started up "rehab" by fishing up The Tuna. Oh yes, this Tuna knew what he wanted. He brought in his close friend Tony Sparano. And then Jeff Ireland. This was known as the "Trifecta" here at The Phinsider. We brought poor ol' Chad Pennington along as well. A QB who had recently been dumped off by the Jets...who had a plan of their own....and went into the 2008 Draft.....and with the #1 pick overall the Dolphins took LT Jake Long. A big guy, a huge improvement to the Dolphins O-line. We took Kendall Langford, and Michigan QB Chad Henne as well. Our rookie to be polished by Chad Pennington, The Veteran. Things were looking to the future.

The 2008 Season

We had the team the Tuna had designed for us and went into season with Chad Pennington under center. We came out of that season at 11-5 and champions of the AFC East. Our defense turned out to be above average, and we pulled into the playoffs. We had single handedly, gone from 1-15 to 11-5. Despite losing the Wild Card game to the Ravens, we had a great season and fans everywhere were proud. That season shows that you can be as bad as you can be. Almost fall to clutches of imperfection, and still the winds of change always hold something different for us every season. Call it the product of an easy schedule, call it what happens when Tom Brady tears his ACL, but whatever you call it, we still won the East and we still went 11-5 and we still went to the playoffs.

Seasons 09'-10' + 11'

These past two season have been letdowns for sure, as the Tuna swam upstream, our "polished" rookie steps up to the plate, we lose the R&R Express, and our FO becoming increasingly questionable. Both seasons going 7-9, missing out on the playoffs and watching two great teams, the Saints and Packers, go on to be great champions. And now we sit here with the 2011 Season in full swing, and looking at a record of 3-8.  But I guess what I'm trying to say here, is don't give up hope Dol-phans!! Despite the stinging losses we've been through this season, the winds of change will blow our way once more!!! For now, we are being tested. Our fansmanship, or whatever you want to call it, is being tested. So look back to the days of The Tuna and CP10! And remember that there is always hope.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

P.S. i reely like polls so ima add 1 rite now k?

The Phinsider One Word.....Dumbstruck.

Well guys, I think its safe to say, we are all in a state of disbelief. In a year that was supposed to be the year we prove ourselves to the league, is just another year the media looks down on us. Our O-line that we "bulked up" so much, falls apart. The addition of Reggie Bush, and the hype of rookie Daniel Thomas, dont make a dent. Our defense, the supposed strongest part of our team, allows Brady the best game of his career...and dont even start me on TE coverage. Henne showed leadership and promise...and Daboll seemed to work well...but the rest of the team is falling apart around them... AND Sparano's in the hot seat. This all adds up to a record of 0-3...not even bringing up a win against the Browns? Wow, my friends.

I give Sparano 3 games...or less until he is dead and gone. If we are going to even try to give a hint to the world that we are indeed THE MIAMI DOLPHINS, then we need to step up. Not just our O-line, not just our defense...but every single member of this orginazation is going to have to show they want this. So, if you ask me...right now we dont look like we want this that bad. Sparano for god's sake looks like he's abandoned all hope. But I dont think its gonna take someone new to make this team reach its peak of power that we all know is there...(except for Sparano...get that guy outta here)...its gonna take some "want." So...until they want it, and they are tired of being the laughing stock of the NFL, we are going to play badly. And thats the truth.

Until then my friends...Im rooting for the Bills. (and the Dolphs...I havent given up all the way...) But how about them huh? :D

The Phinsider The Guy the Dolphins Need to Draft: Christian Ponder

Even though I am one out of many opinions, I stand firmly glued to the Christian Ponder bandwagon. At first, I thought Cam Newton was the way to go, alot thought he was, being the BCS champion and all. But now after the Combine, my beliefs have changed. While Ponder shined, and Newton showed only exceptional skills, he started to grow on me. Im hoping the same is going for Jeff Ireland and the staff. And it might be true, seeing as The Dolphins have scheduled private workouts with just about all the best QB's available this season. This excited me greatly because this makes me think that Dolphins are getting more seirous about drafting a QB. I mean, we've gone through quaterback, after quarterback, after quarterback, but yet still here we are in the 2011 Draft, with "Quarterback" at the top of our list. The Dolphins did clearly state they were going to thouroughly examine every option they had. Which also makes me feel good. But regardless of what Ireland said, just about every post over the weeks have been someone blabbing on about what QB to draft on Pick #15 (or higher, if we trade up). And I suppose I am only adding to that pile, but its always nice to get your word out there. But cutting the corny crap, lets get on to what I really want to talk about. Christian Ponder.

Christian Ponder
  • Height: 6'2"
  • Weight: 229 lbs.
  • Arm Length: 32 1/8 in.
  • Hand Size: 10 1/4 in.
  • College: Florida St.
  • Conference: ACC
  • Position: QB

Ponder is at home, considering he goes to FSU. Jake Long and the guys up front could allow him to use his good footwork and proficiency in the short passing game. Could become a starter if given time and decision making improves. Uses his feet to buy extra time, leave the pocket to throw, or take off and running for first downs. Exhibits the physical and mental toughness you like to see. Has enough arm strength but doesn't put elite zip on the ball and will try to fit it into too many tight spots downfield. Accuracy is only sound in the short passing game at this time. Ponder could sneak into the second round.

But with practice and good mentors, Ponder could be a real nice additon to this team. Thoughts?

The Phinsider Rookie or Veteran ... Breaking it Down

One of the many debates this offseason is the choice for a Rookie QB, or a Veteran QB. The answer has varied for many teams, as for the Jets it the answer was Mark Sanchez. a rookie who had a tremendous start, now only in his third year, is standing right before the Super Bowl. Here in Miami, we thought a rookie by the name of Chad Henne was the answer, but now in his third year, has led his team to a record of 7-9. "Henne Believers" are becoming scarce nowadays, you know, the ones who say "Henne is a work in progress, just give him time." Well folks, those days are just about over. It's now time to look ahead, and not giving a QB whose career may never take off "more time." Because Miami could very well, be out of time. With Vets like Karlos Dansby crawling towards retirement. Which means Miami could struggle over the next few years, in many places if we do not act fast. If you ask any Football fan the most vital position is the Quarterback. Which is where Miami, needs to act.

The Next Decision:

Rookie or Veteran? Answer: Both

Rookies: (Options: Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker etc.)

Cam Newton:

Miami needs a guy like Cam Newton, a guy who isnt inconsistent, like our pal Chad Henne. I recommend him for our fist pick, saying he drops down to us. For the first fourteen picks, I will be biting my nails, hoping I never hear the name CAM NEWTON until pick fiffteen.

As an NFL draft prospect, he has great mobility and can break a defense with his ability to run. He throws well on the move and has above average arm strength. Much like Vince Young during his time at Texas, Newton makes throws look effortless. Also like Young, his accuracy can be hot and cold from throw to throw. With only one year as a starter in Division 1 football, Newton is the most raw player in the draft, at any position.

Newton comes across as a mix between Young, Tim Tebow and Ben Roethlisberger. He has the chance to play early in his NFL career.

Jake Locker: A more likely canidate for Miami, as Newton could very well be picked up by teams like Arizona, Minnesota, Washington etc. With a bit more learning, from our new QB Coach Chad Pennington (I can dream right?) I think we can erase some of his occasional bonehead mistakes, and turn him into a purely elite QB. The guy's no Cam Newton but he still poses some great threats just on his own.

Locker is the ultimate dual-threat at quarterback. He has run an officially timed 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, has a John Elway-like arm and tons of potential. He also makes some bone-headed plays and has not shown great accuracy in the pocket.

Locker excels when on the move. He throws better across his body than any other passer in the class and can make exceptional reads when moving outside the pocket. He seems to come alive when moving. Unfortunately, that won't work in the NFL.

Blaine Gabbert: Gabbert is no joke. He's an elite, with laser-shot throws that are right on the money. However, being the player that he is, and the potential he offers, he (like Cam Newton) could very well be drafted by a team before pick fiffteen.

Gabbert has played in a system that is designed for the quarterback to succeed. He does a great job making short-to-intermediate throws that are well timed and brilliantly designed. The system at Mizzou is very close to what teams like Green Bay and New England are running today.

Veterans: (Options: Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn and much more ...)

Let me just say something before I start, I do not believe that any of the quarterbacks that are availible for sure, would fit Miami all to well. However, there are two Vets that are not availble yet, but I do have on my wishlist. They are Kyle Orton & Kevin Kolb. Kevin Kolb; who has asked to be traded, would not be a bad choice. he did lead Philly to a great start of the season before giving over the reigns to Michael Vick. Kyle Orton, the least likely of the two to become available, is a great Vet, even after leading Denver to 4-12 season, the worst in franchise history. There were many reasons he didnt do well, including Josh McDaniels and his bonehead coaching decisions. So his chances of leaving Denver, are possible. As for the other availble Veterans, I think we'll have to leave it to Tony and the boys on this one. But I do think we need at least one vet, and one rookie. One to teach and one to learn. And when the rookie's day comes, we will have an elite, strong quarterback.

 The Plan:

Veteran (Kevin Kolb, Kyle Orton) + Rookie (Cam Newton, Jake Locker) = Elite QB

Now let's kick back and read another 100 posts about exactly the same thing. =)

The Phinsider So Close, Yet So Far . . .

Well guys, tough loss. Very tough loss. We were robbed. I need not go on about that terrible, terrible call. We were so close, and now so far. But when it comes to our Dolphins, man they give us a game to watch dont they? I think we are one of the toughest teams in the league right now, I mean think about it. We only lost to what everyone is calling the best team in the league because of a lousy call. We just need those little shoves in some places and we can rocket to the top.

1: RED ZONE

This killed us yesterday. If Dan Henning can get his act together and call nice plays, we've been pretty good at executing, and I think were good.

2: R&R EXPRESS ERA . . . going . . . going . . . gone.

Yes, it pains me to say it, but in next years draft RB will be a top priorty.

3: WINNING @ HOME

Now, I guess this isn't HUGE but it's just something that would make me happy to see us do.

Well guys, as Matty said: tough. We all gotta deal with it.

The Phinsider Just To Set The Record Straight . . .

I do not believe that what happened on Monday Night should cause this much chatter.  I've heard a million views on whose fault it is and I think it's really stupid. Yes, we lost 41 - 14. Yes, Chad Henne could have played better. But COME-ON! It was a terrible game. We've had em' before. Heck we've gone through a season with a record of 1-15! So forget it. It's in the past, and I'm sure the Dolphins are doing everything to fix their problems. Alot of times, I think the people on this blog really overeact. I've even heard some go as far as to saying it's Sparano's fault! This blog, ever since Monday Night, has been a big blame game. Listen, as Matty already posted, Chad Henne is nowhere near not being the starter. The game is not Sparano's fault. And it was one game. The Phins have got a bye to correct some mistakes and shape up. But I think we all need to put Monday Night behind us.

The Phinsider Football Has Arrived . . . with cookies.

Me, like everyone else I'm sure, am pumped for the season! I just so darn glad that football has arrived. Watching game was like biting into a cookie after what seemed like 3 years. But you know me. . . I wasn't exactly "satisfied" with our win at the end of the game, I was more thinking about how we didn't exactly "swipe the win" as many of us thought we would. To my beliefs, people were saying things such as . . .  "Phins win this 35-10!!! Woooo!!! Supa Bowl here we come!!!!" That was a BIG overshot. And as many of us thought Chad Henne would show us some of that awesome talent we know he holds, only went 11/5 for 19 yards. And what I wanted to die for was when B-Marsh missed that great pass.  It was . . . sloppy.

So I guess I'm saying many of us overestimated this game. And when the outcome was 7-10, I guess that just wasn't what a lot of us had been expecting. Left me kinda empty. Like the cookie you bit into forgot the chocolate chips. (Worst metaphor ever). But I just remember a win's a win. And nothing I can do except whine like I already am.

But, what can you expect from Preseason Game 1? :)

The Phinsider 3 Questions - Answered.

Now I know the regular season dosen't start for another 2 and a half months, but I was itching to make a post. Plus it's never to early to guess right? No matter what time of the season it is you could be wrong. So you don't have to leave a bunch of comments saying it's to early to guess.

1. Super Bowl?

In my eyes, I say no. Were on the right track for sure, but I just don't see a Super Bowl appearing atleast until 2011. I bring this up because I've been seing alot of Super Bowl talk around lately, and see alot of comments saying stuff like "OH YEAH, SUPA' BOWL HERE WE COME!!!!!!!". Now, I don't want to be a party pooper or anything, but I think that's a bit much. But hey, never to early to guess!

2. Chad Henne Is Da Man?

I definetely think Chad can lead us to many victories, and already being pretty darn good, he is growing and learning from some amazing veterans. Chad Pennington, Brandon Marshall, and even ol' Bill Parcells can be a decent help. So as time flows, I think he will be one of the best QB's Miami has seen in a long time.

3. How Good Are The Dolphins Gonna Be?

Now, this is a big question. However, I get asked it just about everytime I go visit family. Example: "So, how're those Dolphins gonna do this season?" is asked just about every single time I go see my Dad. I usually answer, "Good." and usually that's enough for him. But really, how good are our Phins? And my answer . . . good. And seirously I think we're "good". Because were not "bad'. Not "okay". Not "super great" like the Colts or something. We're "good".  Good, players. Good, coaches. Good, team. So we may not make it to the Super Bowl, but we sure are good enough to win games and prove worthy. And trust me in a couple of years, Henne ll' have a ring on his finger. Now that dosen't mean I don't think they dont have a chance of winning the Bowl this year! Trust me I'll be rootin' for em'! Just that even if they don't win the Bowl, or make the playoffs, they're still "good" enough to be a team in the NFL, and man, you know were tough. After 1-15 I thought I'd kill myself. But we rebounded and made the playoffs! So were good. Definetely good.

But that's just me. . . . what do you think! Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!

The Phinsider Playoff Run for the Dolphins is Gonna be Tight. . .

Getting a Wild Card could be easier, but looking at Division Champs. . .

Week 12: Miami wins, New England loses, NE: 7-4 MIA: 6-5

Mia @ Buf

Ne @ No

Week 13: Miami wins, tied for first at 7-5

Ne @ Mia

Week 14: I say both teams win. Stay tied at 8-5.

Mia @ Jac

Car @ Ne

Week 15: Both win. 9-5.

Mia @ Ten

Ne @ Buf

Week 16: Both win. 10-5

Hou @ Mia

Jac @ Ne

Week 17: Both win. 11-5

Pit @ Mia

Ne @ Hou

Being literal, New England will most likely pummel every single one of those teams. For Miami, I would only concern the Pittsburgh game and the New England one. Both could be tough. If all goes as said, it would be same as last season. 11-5 at 11-5. We would win tiebreaker, because we have a better divisional record! We would be 5-1 divisionally and they would be 4-2.

The best way for it to happen is simple. We win all. They lose at least twice.

The Phinsider Couple Things I'm Noticing. .

Over the past two games, I've noticed a couple things.

One; The defense looks amazing! Last night we never let the Panthers get a good run other those two touchdown runs. Other than that we pretty much had the run stuffed. Same back in Pre-Week 1 gainst' the Jags. Our secondary looks pretty good. SS and VD were definnetly great draft choices. SS looked so great covering Holt and Vontae had a good game last night too. Carolina did get some dang good passes against us last night but the run-defense looked outstanding.

Two; Penne n' the R&R Express continue to amaze me. Ricky the Tank, Ronnie the Wildcat, Chad the Iron Arm. Ricky can boom through any hit. Just look at the Jag, Phin highlights and you'll get my drift. Ronnie pulled a Beastly Carnival last night, and forget "Penne the Noodle Arm" the Wildcat reverse play to Cobbs last night was amazing. The three of them deserve a nickname.

All I can say is these both offensive and defensive we look like a good year is ahead of us Phin Phans.

The Phinsider Phinsguy99's Late Game Observations

Well, guys I'm back because I finnaly found an alternate computer after my other one caught a virus.

         Anyway, moving on . . .

General Game Observations,

Firstly we were inconsistent (or how ever you spell it) which is one of the biggest things Coach Sparano says is one of the biggest things in football. However we only had one what I will call a "real turnover." Henne's picks was dumb, but Pat's pick was pure bad luck. Good pass + Butterfinger Catch = Interception. Me, being a "Henne's The Heir," fan, will indeed say he had an exceptional game. lets just see Henne's stats.

7/11 /  94 Yards / 1 TD / 1 Interception /

Though he was the only one who had a "real' interception he was also the only one who scored a touchdown out of both teams. I won't say much bout Penne but I will say, that drafting Pat White was no mistake. If any of you thought White was a waste of pick, you were wrong. He only played a quarter and a half but he looked like with a year of training with Penne n' Henne he could turn out like a guy who just pops right out in their second or third years. His stats had a Pick and no Touchdown but that guy just looks like a guy who's gonna explode one day. Pat White  didn't exactly have a Matt Ryan debut but just someday. . .

Rushing, just a couple things here. First  . .Ricky . . Is . . A . .TANK! God that man can could get hit by a herd of rhinos and still get up. Ronnie and Cobbs didn't see much but whenever Ricky had that ball he pummeled his way through every time. Ricky, you are in for a big year.

Defense and Secondary I liked aswell. That pick in the inzone was beautiful. The defense did a great job with the run and the biggest part. . . . . .we won. A wins a win. It's preseason yeah but I could really care less. A games a game. A wins a win. And I am PUMPED FOR FOOTBALL!

The Phinsider The Future of CP10. . .

Everyone knows, or should know, that by now, Henne is wanted 1st stringer by 2010. Which means this could be last year even as a Dolphin for beloved CP10. The thing is, what the Trifecta never released was what they were planning to do with CP10. . .

I think Chad (Pennington) definetly needs to be kept. Reason one, he's expeirenced. A guy like Chad could really mentor two 3rd and 2nd seasoner's. Henne would mentor from Chad and maybe that would help. Second, we need to keep him untill they see if Henne is any good or not. If you got rid of Chad to Kansas City or something then realized Henne was no good. . .your screwed. .and left with a skinny-legged 2nd seasoner.

Of course if Henne is just as good as #10, then Pennington might be screwed. There are definete teams that might want him and need him season after next. KC for instence. May still be in a QB jam year after next. After the phen-omonal comeback season last year. So many tams would be interested in Chad if we let him go. We could trade him to some teams and get some good money or some good players. Trading would be risky buissness, but it always is isnt it?

Still, in my opinion we need to keep CP10 incase the Tuna's plan goes wrong. . .

Thoughts?

The Phinsider The Debate On Pat White, Should He Start?

Well, the offseason offers so many questions that are really hard to say until the season has started. This is one of those questions. It's definitely not a new topic but it's one worth talking about. Yes go ahead and shower me with insults after you read this post but don't get me wrong, the question of the title can actually be answered in two simple sentences. Should he start, maybe. Will he start, No. Yes, if Henne and Penne both get injured, yes he will start. The chances of 1st and 2nd stringers both getting hurt, slim. It's been made clear by the Trifecta that Pennington will start this year if he stays in Miami and stays healthy. It's also been made clear Henne is wanted as 1st stringer by 2010. Where does that put Pat White? God only knows.

The Trifecta will want to see White alot during the preseason. Seeing if he can pull the same Quarterback scrambles he pulled in college. Seeing if he can run the Wildcat well, and whatever else White's got on his agenda. However with only three preseason games this year, the Trifecta might want to see more Henne than White. But there's no question whether or not he's got talent. Reason one, he's a hybrid player. That's one reason why the Trifecta drafted him. He may be a Quarterback but he can catch a ball just as well as he can throw one. So we might see as much White action as we did Ginn last year.  Penne to White, just thinking of a 84 yard Touchdown from Penne to White makes me emotional.

Whether we'll see White as a Wideout or a Quarterback we will see am at least once in a Regular Season Game I'm assured. I have faith in White.....just look at my sig!

Thoughts?

The Phinsider Secondary, Upgraded or Not?

After hearing Chris Clemons, Sean Smith and Vontae all doing well in minicamp thus far, do you think our secondary's been upgraded? Are these guys immeadeat pro's or are they a bunch inexpeirenced pre-rookies? In my opinion sounds like we'll be better prepared for T.O. and Moss later in the season. God, I can't wait to see Smith pickin' off Sanchez and covering T.O. Of course we can't exactly see the future so make your predictions!

The Phinsider Grading The Top Three Draft Picks From Phinsguy's Prespective.

Well, I must say this draft was amazing! Pat White, Vontae Davis....are you joking?! This draft just so unbelivable! Ok so that's been established. Onto the grading...

With the 25th Pick Overall in the 2009 Draft, The Miami Dolphins Select.....

Vontae Davis Corner Back Illinois

   Draft Grade: A

With the 44th Pick Overall in the 2009 Draft, The Miami Dolphins Select.....

Pat White Quarter Back Wake Forest

   Draft Grade: A+

With the 61st Pick Overall in the 2009 Draft, The Miami Dolphins Select.....

Sean Smith Corner Back Utah

     Draft Grade: B

Lots of you probably disagree on the Sean Smith grade but I'm not a Sean Smith fan.

The Phinsider Nicks, Britt, Harvin and Robiskie.

Ok so the draft is less 4 days away and there's been lots of chatter about taking a wideout in the second round. First of all we have two picks in the second round. So after taking a nice CB like Darius Butler in the first, we can move on to our wideout needs.

So this one is a popular one. It is very likely he could fall to us in the second. However I don't see this guy in a Phins uniform. He also doesn't seem like one of those Tuna picks either. However the possibilities of drafting Nicks is likely.

Britt

This is one there's been a lot of blab about. This is one I would con cider taking. He's tall and he has good hands. Overall he'd be a nice Phin in my eyes. The problem is there is possibilities that Britt gets drafted before that number 12 (second round) pick. He's a possibility but the odds are more slim.

Harvin

I'm not gonna say much but I will say this, Percy Harvin will probably be gone by the second round. I only bring him up because is stock is falling due to the incident with drugs.

Robiskie

Here's who I wanna get to. Ok, why should you draft Robiskie? He's fast (top five in 40 yard dash) got good hands (didn't drop a single ball) and is just pure awesome. Robskie could make it to the third round though. So if he's not drafted there there's still hope.

Hope ya liked! Laterz!

The Phinsider Randomness From Phinsguy99

Well I'm back after awhile. So I thought I'd begin with one of my randomness posts.

1. I'm not gonna spend to long on this subject but about the Jay Cutler situation. Did the Bears make a good choice? In my opinion, no and yes. In the locker room he's not the greatest but on the field he can get the job done and that's why the Bears took him.

2. I just cannot wait for the draft! I'll be here posting on the LIVE DRAFT THREAD but in my eyes I see us taking......MACHO MAN!!!!! I haven't really seen in any Mock Drafts Macho being before no. 25. We'll be to late for Alphonso Smith and we won't take a receiver here. If we do I'll be really furious. I remember back in January ALL the posts were about drafting receivers and scouting the draft for elite receivers. If you actually look a bit closer were not that desperate for a receiver. We already got our Triple Trio of Ginn, Bess n' Camarillo. We've also got our reliable Tight Ends Anthony Fasano and Joey Haynos. So stop worrying about Wide Receivers.

3. ****BREAKING NEWS**** The ultimate CKC creator, FinsxFactor showed up to the last nights CKC. He was seen come out of utter nothingness. The three witnesses Cbdolphin, dolfinfan34 and Phinsguy99 said ",There was a ball of light then we all magically started bowing." Then Finsx's lost "love bud" Rzayo24 was the one who was obviously showing most excitement. Well, you heard it here folks! Go meet Finsx!

Well, I'm out. SEEEE YAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Phinsider Phinsguy99's Top 10 Mock Draft

Here's Your's Truly Phinsguy99's Mock Draft!

1. The Detroit Lions Select......Matthew Stafford. QB. Ohio State.

Surprise...Surprise....

2. The Saint Louis Rams Select.....Jason Smith! OT. Baylor.

They have to start on either O-line or D-line. Jason Smith might be an answer.

3. The Kansas City Chiefs Select.....Brian Orakpo! DE. Texas.

Chiefs also need to bulk up the lines. Possibillity the go O-line here. (B.J Raji)

4. The Seattle Seahawks Select.....B.J. Raji! DT. Boston College.

Seahawks weren't great at stopping the run in 08'. B.J. Raji could help that.

5. The Clevland Browns Select......Aaron Curry! LB. Wake Forrest.

Browns need help at Linebacker. One of the best or THE best Linebacker in the draft, Aaron Curry will fix it up.

6. The Cincanatti Bengals Select.....Andre Smith! OT. Alabama.

He didn't make it to the Combine and neither did he have in impressive Pro Day but I still see him making the Top 10.

7. The Oakland Raiders Select......Michael Crabtree! WR. Texas Tech.

Oakland's been short on Wr's forever. An addition of Michael Crabtree might help. His stock might have lowered a bit when he suffered the stress fracture but the guy's still probably useful.

8. The Jacksonville Jaguars Select.....Jeremy Maclin! WR. Missouri.

They came in one time late for Crabtree but a speedy Jeremy Maclin is still a valuble addition.

9. The Green Bay Packers Select......Brian Cushing! LB. USC.

Packers need some help at Linebacker and basicly defense overall but maybe Rey Maualuga could go here.

10. The San Fransisco 49ers Select.....Mark Sanchez! QB. USC.

49ers have been desprate for YEARS for a good Quarterback. I doubt they'd get Stafford here but yah never know.

There yah have it! The Top 10 straight from the mind of Phinsguy99!

The Phinsider Brian Robiskie.

Me and FinzD54 are the Official Brian Robiskie Bandwagon Starters so, I'll do a stat post on Robiskie.

Images_medium

Ok here's some stats.

Stats:

Year   Yards   Rec.    Average     Touchdowns

2005      13        1            13.0                  0

2006     383       29          13.2                  5

2007     935       55          17.0                  11

2008     535       42           12.7                  8

Brian got a good time at the 40 and caught every ball in the passing drill. I think he'd work well with our Triple Trio of Bess Ginn n' Camarillo. Should Fasano be included? Anyway, he's 21 years old is a good 6-3. If Robiskie slips by us then another nice guy would Darrius Heyward-Bey. He got the BEST time in 40. Your thoughts?

The Phinsider Ok, Let's Talk Draft.

I must say when it comes to the offseason, this place must be the most inhabited blog in all SB Nation. Ok, let's talk draft.

Now, there's some rumors the Trifecta already knows how there going to use that No. 25 pick. There's definitely lot's of different options at Wideout and at Linebacker and at Offensive Line. Some of the nice players might be gone at 25. Such as, Aaron Curry or Darrius-Heyward-Bey. I liked some of those choices in that Mock Draft 2.0 Matty posted. Such as Larry English, Percy Harvin, Kenny Britt and also my favorite Brian Robiskie.

For me? As a mock draft? Well I'm not sure.

No. 25 Pick, Miami Dolphins, PERCY HARVIN

I said it. Percy Harvin. He's a guy that fits good into Flordia considering he played college there. The guys pretty good. I think this might be an old Bill Parcells pick. Your thoughts?

The Phinsider Ray Lewis?

Now, he's probably gonna be back in Baltimore next season but if we offer him some money we might be able to pull it off. I know what your thinking Lewis is waaay to old. He's old but he's good. He's a linebacker exactly what were looking for. Two bad things about Lewis though is,

1. He's kinda old

2. There'd be heat between J-Peezy n' Lewis.

We also have a hopeful rumor Burnett on the way and also MHTD's favorite, Troy Nolan. So, Ray Lewis? Maybe?

The Phinsider Colts Release Marvin Harrison

Harrison's agent announced today that Indy has indeed released him. I for one, am not interested. Were always saying "Were trying to build a young team." Marvin isn't very young. Yes, he's a good reciver but he's a bit to old for what were looking for.

We should get Brian Robiskie (There is a bandwagon) or Darrius Heyward Bey. You can read more on my opinion about Heyward and Robiskie, here.

Jets Defense Gives me a Scare

The Jets are really looking into Ray Lewis and Bart Scott. With Rex Ryan as head coach, it makes sense why they'd get agents from Baltimore.

The Phinsider Talkin' Wideouts: Scouting Combine

I saw two REALLY good wideouts out there today.

Number one....Brian Robiskie. He didn't caught anything they threw to im' got a great time in the Forty Yard Dash and got the second best vertical jump in a decade! He's tall, fast and has great hands.

Number Two....Darrius Heyward Bey. He got the best time of the day in Forty Yard Dash caught all balls and definetelt cemented himself into the first round.

There's one last guy who didnt show as much greatness as I thought he would and that's Kenny Britt. He was really shaky on catching and wasn't the greatest in the Forty Yard Dash. Also, Pat White? He's a 6 ft QB and might actually be quite a nice wideout. I doubt he'll become a wideout but just tossin' it out there.
