I saw this scanning some espn.com coverage...

"Walters also said that Kansas was a No. 1 seed even before the Big 12 game was finished -- so if the Jayhawks had lost, then they still would have been a No. 1 seed. Their tournament win prevented Texas from possibly moving up from the third line to a No. 2 seed."

It appears Mr. Katz is mistaken in thinking that Texas is a 3 seed in the tournament, but it still brings up an interesting point.

I can't imagine that that lose was the difference between a three seed or even, heck a #2 seed as Katz points out. One made or missed basket shouldn't have that much of an effect.

Any thoughts?
