Vikes Claim They Stole Harvin from Patriots
Childress believes the Patriots would have taken Harvin at #23 had the Vikings not interceded. A noted mastermind, particularly with player motivation and game-clock management, Childress apparently pressured the Florida receiver into admitting the Patriots had conducted a private work-out with Harvin and had swarn him to secrecy. Childress also (apparently) smoked marijuana with him before publicly making those comments.
Tim Graham on Pats' 11 Picks
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-7-101/With-11-picks--Patriots-in-commanding-position.html
Good article from Tim Graham on his ESPN.com AFC East blog about the Pats flexibility in the upcoming draft. Worth the read, with some good quotes from other personnel guys around the league. Echos all the comments/thoughts covered here (pats in great position, six picks in top 100, flexibility to move up/down, target a player if they want).
OT Class
Good article on the relative lack of strength of this year's tackle class compared to prior years' from Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/43260222.html
Seems like this entire draft is keyed around QBs and OTs, many of whom appear to at least have some significant question marks (injury, character) being talked about as early picks over safer guys who play less premium positions (DT, LB, WR, RB).

Potential Draft Pick Trade Value
Given the high likelihood that the Pats will either look to trade out of the draft to capture 2010 picks or package picks to move up in this year's draft, I thought I'd put together a chart of where they may end up. Using Draft Countdown's draft pick value chart (http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php) as the basis, here is an approximation of to where the Patriots could potentially trade up to in the draft, assuming:
1) 7th rounder is essentially a throw-in with no value;
2) compensatory picks by-rule cannot be traded;
3) only utilizes this year's picks in 2x1 trades (i.e. the Pats package two picks to trade for one higher pick)

Donte Stallworth
Allegedly, he was driving his Bentley near South Beach and struck and killed a pedestrian last night. Currently being held by Miami PD pending further investigation. Unbelievable.
Pats Trade for Eagles WR Greg Lewis
From Boston.com's Mike Reiss:
Report: Patriots acquire WR Greg Lewis
The Patriots have acquired receiver Greg Lewis from the Philadelphia Eagles, Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports.
The Globe is now working to confirm this trade.
Lewis, 29, has spent the first six years of his career with the Eagles.
First-year Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht spent five years with the Eagles, so it's possible that this reported move could have come with his strong recommendation.
Lance Moore (RFA)
Not to keep beating the Lance Moore as the Pats #3 receiver drum, but I thought this was very interesting commentary from Mike Lombardi's always quality Notes column this afternoon.
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/03/notes-from-lombardi-9/
Two important clarifications from the comments section as well: (i) Pats would only have to forfeit the #58 pick (can only give up your own pick, not an acquired selection); and (ii) whether he can play outside or just the slot (apparently both, with the comparison by one fan being that he's more Deion Branch than Wes Welker).
