Athletics Nation 2009 Draft

So the draft is coming up and I was wondering who AN thinks we should draft this year. I love the SS Grant Green out of USC and I found a cool write up about him that had me drooling a little.

However, this draft includes a lot of people that could go anywhere 5-13, and we all know how much the A's like to draft pitching, which this draft is full of. So with that in mind, who would you like to see the A's get?

Athletics Nation New  lineup?

What does everyone think about the lineup from Thursdays game?

1. O-Cab 2. Suzuki 3. Giambi 4. Holliday 5. Cust 6. Sweeney 7. Crosby 8. Buck 9. Hannahan

Personally, I really like it. Even though Cabrera doesn't have a very good OBP for a leadoff man, I think this lineup will give up some runs. I like the idea of Cust and Sweeney in the 5th and 6th spot, maybe giving them more of a chance to hit with RISP. What does AN think?

Athletics Nation Everybody, just take a breath

and calm down. I understand how frustrating this team has been to watch the last few games and that Holliday and Giambi have been disappointing so  far. However, the season isn't even close to halfway done, most of our infield is injured and we have yet to gain any sort of congruence with our rotation. All these things will be either ironed out or addressed before long. Remember how Miguel Cabrera started out last year, his first in the AL? Yet he finished the year with the AL homerun crown. Give Holliday some time, it's really hard to go to the AL after 5 years in the NL and have immediate success. He's a great player, he'll figure it out.

I know times are tough right now, but try to keep some perspective. We're still in a weak division, we still have a great offense on paper, and we just finished a really tough April opposition wise. Take a deep breath, maybe light some incense, and calm down.

Oh and I don't want to see anymore of the negative attitudes that have become a trend in the game treads. Have some damn optimism.
