The Grantland Annual NBA League Pass Rankings

Apparently the Warriors are the most watchable team in the NBA. Duh.

Rumors, Speculation and Talks Abound … Here is Some of What I’ve Heard

Marcus Thompson on the rumors surrounding the Ws They probably know what they want, but there are too many balls in the air for them to know what they’re going to do. Which is probably why nothing will happen until the first five or six picks are determined. Golden State really can’t afford to make a move out of No. 7 now, then have MKG or Harrison Barnes fall to where they were. The most untouchable Warrior right now is Klay Thompson. Apparently he is in high demand, which is only convincing the Warriors he is someone they need to hold on to. Believe it or not, point guard Stephen Curry also still has some trade value. The Warriors aren’t biting, but Curry seems to still have some pull despite ankle issues.

LeBron, Durant highlight 2011-12 All-NBA First Team

The Miami Heat's LeBron James, the 2011-12 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player and winner of three of the previous four MVP awards, highlights the 2011-12 All-NBA First Team. James received 118 of a possible 120 first team votes. Joining James on the First Team are Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers. Monta got 2 votes and David Lee got 1.

Bulls' Derrick Rose tears ACL

This makes the postseason a lot less interesting. Hopefully he can make a full recovery.

Fix tanking: Grade on a curve

It's an interesting idea, but let's start doing it next year.

Ellis feels the love after Warriors fans boo owner

"It was a pretty crazy scene," Ellis said. "I don't really know what to say, but I love those fans. I know they love me, too". "It was past due with us and we knew they had to make a move," The silver lining on this whole booing episode is that it displayed how much Monta meant to Warriors fans. However, it appears even he realized it was time to shake things up.

Vanderbilt to GS?

This kid could be the anchor of the Warriors' interior defense for many years to come.

Cousins' offers old school view of free agency

"I'm not taking jabs at anybody or anything like that," said the Kings second-year center, "but to me, that's all part of being a competitor, of being a part of this sport. If you're the star player of that team, you should want to continue. "I mean, trying to join another - I mean, I'm not taking jabs at anybody - but to me that's kind of like taking the coward's way out". Who would have figured DeMarcus Cousins would be the voice of reason? Too bad the W's had to go on that hot streak to end the 2009-10 season.

Out-of-work NBA players back in college

Good article, but the most intriguing part was reading Anthony Randolph has coaching aspirations. Who woulda thunk? "I want to pursue a career in coaching when I’m done playing," Randolph said. "But I have to have a degree to do that." Now that would be interesting to say the least. Maybe he learned some things from Nellie after all.

In a Transition to Coaching, a Broadcaster Keeps Talking

When he recently guaranteed that the long-underperforming Warriors would be a playoff team next season, Van Gundy sent him a text message, "Don’t say that."

Warriors did the right thing to send Nelson packing.

Excellent and very true column by Lowell Cohn. A couple of highlights: "No one in the Bay Area is allowed to utter the phrase "small ball" for the next decade". "Smart’s Warriors will be a traditional NBA team, and that means they will play like other teams who actually win games as opposed to merely entertaining people. And the Warriors will play defense. What a concept". I can't agree more with placing the emphasis on wins over entertainment. Too many fans are satisfied with losing basketball as long as it is entertaining. Personally I can't stand this viewpoint.

Owen Wilson repping the Warriors (and taking a whiz)

Don Nelson's golfing buddy sporting his Warriors gear in Hawaii. Don needs to hook him up with some updated logo-wear.
