He's basically got a 10 mil salary and will probably be released. Now the question is he an upgrade over Ruud?

Bucs Nation Mark Sanchise vs. Josh Freeman.

I have seen dozens of articles and interviews about how great Mark Sanchez is going to be this year and in the future. The Jets had the number one defense in the NFL and the number one running game last year while Freeman... well lets just say he had a lot less to work with. Now if you compare their stat lines from last year, Freeman had 10 TD's, 18 INT, 1855 yards, with a 59.8 rating; Sanchez had 12 TD's, 20 INT's, 2,444 yards, and a 63.0 rating.

Mark Sanchez did slightly better, but again he had a much better team around him, and he started the entire year.  If everyone is gushing about Sanchez, we should be doing back flips at what Freeman will be able to do with an improved WR corp and a year of experience. I think when all is said and done we came away with the best QB in the 09 draft.

Bucs Nation I can't wait for the season to finally start.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here. I found this site this off-season and have been following on and off the past few months. I'm actually born and raised in Central Florida and have been a Buc's fan since I was about ten. The Buc's used to give my Boy Scout troop free pre-season tickets. It's fair to say I have rooted for some horrible teams as a child.

Now on to the current team: I have a lot of hope for our curent team, and the future even looks better. Since the Superbowl, we have been putting on band-aids with free agents, and staying middle of the road... or a little worse. The imploding of the team last year has been overdue for years. Our new GM has been one of the best in the league with the draft the last 2 years. Everyone knew that the last draft was going to be loaded with talent and he made great deals to give us a good selection of that talent. The free agents have been hit and miss, but that's true with every team. Rebuilding takes time, but I think we are ready to make a big splash this year. I'm hoping for 8-8, but would be happy with just obvious improvement, as well as being competitive in all of the games.
