Our marketing budget is now officially AQ-sized. Wonder how much they paid for the rights to this song. However much it is, it's worth it. Of all the videos they have on their new site, this is my favorite. I CAN'T WAIT TIL AUG 31st! Arrrrgh!

Doug Martin shines in Senior Bowl practice, could be late first round pick - NY Times

4

RB Doug Martin, Boise State: Martin came into this week as a player many thought would be a lock as a third-round back. After showing off his chiseled physique in the weigh-in and backing it up with a great week of practice, Martin is a player that some talk about as being a late first-round guy. He runs low to the ground, has good vision, and is a good receiver out of the backfield. He’s versatile enough to help out a team as a kick returner as well. Martin was the only back on either roster that looked good in every facet of the position in practice. Although the methods used to conduct both the North and South practices limited the opportunity to see running backs do what they do best, Martin’s downhill mentality, quickness and physical style came to the fore. He’s the only running back after this week where there are zero questions about his future chances as a three-down player.

This team's got it right: "it's all about playing together and having a good time"

SI's Holly Anderson can't believe the Sugar Bowl left out Boise State

Yahoo Sports, LA Times, and now SI... No one thinks it was smart or fair to exclude Boise State & Kellen Moore from the Sugar Bowl.

Plus One System is "Inevitable"

The PAC-12, long an opponent of the Plus-One BCS Playoff format, has changed its thinking. Gee, think Stanford's being shut out of the NCG had anything to do with it? It's a great start. But Kevan's playoff format can't get here soon enough!

Resistance is Futile... Get ready for the Assimilation of Professionally Paid College Athletes

1

Last week, the Genie was let out of the bottle when $2,000 payments were authorized. The unanswered questions abound: Q1. How might collegiate athletes eventually be paid? * Per game * Per season * Per sack, touchdown, yard Q2. Which model will universities use? * No revenue sharing (teams with the most money end up dominating ~ similar to MLB) * Revenue sharing among teams (similar to NFL) Q3. How would "student" athletes end up at schools? * Highest bidder * Draft selection * Student's choice * Combination of above Q4. Will recruits be allowed to have "agents" that negotiate the best terms with prospective universities? The unanswered questions are endless... the assimilation has just begun.
