Seeing as how McD's stated objective is to win now, & it has been said many times that most D-Line prospects take a few years to develop, what do you people think about going after a "quality" NT/DL with one of our 1st day picks?  Then we can get a Rookie DL or two without having to reach for a guy that is probably not going to impact our D very much this year?  I  also am very skeptical of Raji, after reading a bit of stuff about him.  Am I off the mark a ways by thinking that there is as much potential for DL in the later (not 1st), rounds?  I LOVE this site & am getting VERY excited for the up-coming season!!!!  I for one, don't think that Xanders & McD are finished aquiring quality players yet!  At least I hope not!  What do you folks think???

  I've been wondering about a few things, & thought i'd see if anyone else has similar thoughts, or if it's just my own wierd mind?  Here are my questions, in no particular order;  With the move toward "character" & "team" this offseason, what is the talk like in the locker room, at practice & on the sidelines this year?  In my imaginings it's all positive, (especially when compared to last year ), with everybody contributing "good stuff" to each other, keeping the "negative crap" to a minimum & fostering a "team first attitude" that we seem to be witnessing both on & off the field, as evidenced by statements like Daniel Graham made the other nite.  By the way, thank you, whoever refferenced that because I get the Arizona Cardinals feed which did not include that great tid-bit.

  Next, I wonder if Darrel Hackney could be used as a Goal line back?  He seems to have good ball security & handling skills, runs low (for his size) & seems to run with good authority & power.  He never seems to go down at first contact, but runs thru a tackle or two!  I do understand some of the arguments against ( QB, seldom activated, etc.) But, it's a thought.

Have you noticed how much more "heart" we've played with this pre season?  How we're Flowing to the ball on defense, gang tackling etc!  I'm LOVING it !!!!!  I think this is another manifestation of the attitude being created, as refferenced in the first paragraph, but it's GREAT!!!
