Something that I have been curious about that noone has really given me a solid reasonable answer for.  Why did we trade Tony Gonzalez away for a 2nd rd pick next year? 

The other question I have is why is there even any talk about Bernard Pollard getting demoted to back up Safety if he was the leading tackler on this team, his coverage isnt great, but its not piss poor, and he is a more than durable and sure tackling safety, Mike Brown? Really?.... Dude hasnt finished a full season since 02 or 03...

Just some things to think about.
We have a good quarterback, dont get worried yet from what you have been hearing.  Matt Cassell has been not only accurate and smooth with the football, but he has shown A LOT of arm strength.  I got to watch him in practice a few days and this guy looks like a leader, also he and his receivers have been gelling a lot more day to day.  Speaking of our WR's, whats not to like? You saw D-Bowe in that preseason game, i think the reason they have him not with the 1st team is to light a fire under his big a$$. This guy has all the tools to be a Randy Moss type of talent he just needs the right motivation and I think Todd and Chan are doing an awesome job of that.  As for Bradley, Engram and Toomer, they are sure handed, speedy and veteran like receivers who will make big plays or much needed plays throughout this whole season, especially Bradley, he is my sleeper... I mean last year look what he did with the short time he was here, our WRs are better than average by far. 

As for our backfield, Larry johnson to me is going to have a top 3 RB year.  Last year he missed 4 games, still managed a 4.5 YPC average, with only 198 carries or so and 890+ yrds. If he had his usual carries of 360+ think of what kind of season he couldve had, and that was with a worse oline and no FB half the time, you throw in J Charles and Jackie Battle you have 3 very different running styles to come out of that line.  The Oline is still kind of struggling, but it looks much better than last year, and Branden Albert is embarassing some of our D line, they look more together to me. 

 As for our Defense ill just say this, we might have one of the best secondaries in the league as far as young talent goes, they can only get better.  Flowers, Carr, Pollard and Page are ALL strong hitters and know how to wrap up and tackle.  Coverage is the only issue and i think Pollard is the only one really that struggles, although he is a massive run stopping SS.  All im trying to say is this team was good last year they just needed better coaching and maybe a new system and way of doing things. 

I think Pioli has made awesome personnel decisions and I think Haley is the right coach to get these younger kids more disciplined and focused on their assignments and how to execute.  Stay positive, this year to me might be a AFC West title year.  S.D. is our only competition.
