Mile High Report belated Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Orton

I can't think of a better place to put it, so it goes on MHR's wall. I'm sincerely happy for you, Kyle: you were a great college player, a solid company man wherever you played in the NFL, and absorbed every arrow and DE the league threw at you. You played for us with a dislocated bone sticking out of your finger, fercrissakes.

I watched you, in a nice grey jacket and a firm gaze, and your lovely wife walk from the stadium last Sunday after #15 got the call. My shout of support, and respect, wasn't loud enough to carry over the catcalls and drunks. I wish it had been. I'd like your memory of Denver to be less like "...F&*% all those ingrates..." and more like "...I got a fair deal, a fighter's chance, and a healthy salary - I provided stability and grit, and in the end they needed someone else."

So this father of three wishes you a great time with your wife and daughter - I think you'll be a hell of a dad, and I salute you for your work on my favorite football team.

Reasonably fair, and slick production; if Norv's smug half-smile and Rivers' mug shot don't get your blood boiling...

#1 quarterback of Week 2, 2009 season. Great Stats. Team Loss. Priceless.

Mile High Report A few things I learned on Sunday...

Sunday's win was extraordinarily exciting, refreshingly different, and as Guru said; a big relief (we don't have to spend one more week calmly refuting a cacophony of schadenfreude from the, shall we say, "unpleased with recent major personnel moves" Broncos fans) - but for all the replays of a single catch and endless talk of whether we are a fluke/luck 1-0 team or something greater, there are some real nuggets to take from Sunday's win.  Among them:

Reno Venue Needed

NBC changed the Cincy game to Jaguars/Colts at the last minute, so more Reno area broncos fans than I are now have to make do with NFL replay and Sirius radio - unless some MHR veteran has a good recommendation; non-smoking but other rowdiness OK. Thanks in advance!
