Ponder enters free agency

11

Minnesota's decision comes as no surprise. The Vikings weren't about to pay Ponder $9.6 million when it's no guarantee he even makes the team this season. Releasing Ponder would cost the Vikings $3.2 million, which won't stop the team from parting ways with a signal-caller who won just two games in nine starts in 2013. He recorded the highest completion percentage of his young career (63.6)..

Post Combine Mock NFL Draft

In this "deepest draft in 30 years" Mock Draft, I am intentionally not as excited with taking 5 Qbs in the top 10 or the elite 2-3 OT in the top 10, as most would seem to want to do. I also...

Wiggins To FSU likely

15

The most interesting comment from the interview was Fulford’s comments regarding the current leader in the Wiggins sweepstakes. "I think he’s taking the visits seriously," Fulford said. "He and I had a little discussion. He doesn’t talk much, but he said he enjoyed his Florida State visit, and he felt it and he could feel himself going there." "He knows they have holes. He knows as far as the team aspect they’re not where they need to be, but he likes the fact that his parents (basketball player Mitchell Wiggins and track athlete Marita Payne-Wiggins) both were athletes there. He has familiarity there. He got a good vibe from the visit, but he’s going to take all the visits, and if somebody beats out Florida State, then they beat Florida State. He’s not going to go there just because his parents went there."

FSU leads for Wiggins

Wiggins has two other upcoming visits scheduled- Kansas March 4 and North Carolina March 9. The high school senior’s decision will come down to which ever college gives him the best chance at a national championship according to his Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford. "I think whoever wins the visits is going to have a one-up," Fulford said in an interview with the Courier-Journal. "Then after, they sit down and evaluate rosters. I think deep down he wants to win a national championship. … But he has to evaluate the fit, style of play, how everything works for him in a team aspect with all rosters." Maryland Negotiating with BIG10

4

A local Philly station is reporting that Maryland is negotiating with BIG http://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/football/2012/11/maryland-to-the-big May be the best thing because if you stick around, it will be hard to argue against that exit fee in court. The ACC has been sold out to Espn for a long time, and ntm Vegas, this is really the bottom feeder conference the way the BCS is set up, and it seems like only an act of congress could change this monopoly...
