Rival GM: Brad Emaus looks like a AAAA player
It's probably too early to come to this type of conclusion, but I haven't been impressed by him so far either. For someone with such a disciplined approach he takes a pretty wild, undisciplined swing.
On January 4th, 2010, this was the scene in Monk's coffee shop. Still unsigned in the offseason, Dickey does the opposite.

Eric Byrnes likely will not be joining the Mets
If Byrnes plays softball, what would this make Gary Matthews Jr.? The Mets' tee ball team looks like it has a full roster.
"Velocities are down all around baseball. It's the talk of scouts everywhere." -Jon Heyman
Not all Dan Warthen's fault that the velocities of Perez, Maine, and Santana are down?
Beltran won't be back before May 8th
Not really news, but it should be noted nonetheless.
A Modest Jenrry Mejia Rally
SNY's SportsNite broadcasts live every night at 10. So, this Friday, Sam and I will be holding up a couple of signs in the windows of the studios protesting Mejia's call up. If you're in the city and are feeling somewhat irrational, you should stop by. Otherwise, watch us attempt to get some air time this Friday.
Jerry really likes Chris Carter's short swing.
Ed Coleman, on game broadcast today
This is breaking news. Jerry loves the merits of a short swing (and good, in this case)!
Santana's High Fives Briefly Profiled in SI
It's nice to read an article that profiles Johan's antics nicely without drawing stupid conclusions.
In addition, if you have access to a print version, you can see photos of his celebratory handshakes from after his final start of 2008 (the complete game, 3-hit shutout)

Francoeur picking out bats with the enemy
Chris, in your time together with Jeff, please teach him how to walk. Just a little bit.
Mets one of 3 teams interested in Catalanotto
This seems to be the case every offseason. He's a Smithtown, Long Island native too.
Reyes has a tear in his hamstring
Per Kevin Burkhardt's Twitter: "He'll be evaluated for 2 days", and then they'll come up with a plan from there. How much more injury news can this team take?
Update: Adam Rubin confirms. On the bright side, Alex Cora returned today and has been productive in limited action this season.
Murphy- #2 hitter
I still liked Castillo in the two hole, but Murph fits the profile. Then again, this thing could just be Jerry giving the media more to feed on.
