Golden State Of Mind Andris Biedrins: Best Backup Center in the NBA next season?

Gs1000_andris2_medium

With Andrew Bogut being the new starting center for Golden State, how do you think this affects Andris Biedrins if he remains a Warrior next season?

I believe with Bogut taking control of the center position, this takes a big amount of pressure off of Biedrins. He just didn't have it in him anymore to play like how he used to back in 2007-2008, however, being a backup to Bogut could change that; it could be the perfect situation for Biedrins.

He won't feel the pressure of having to carry this team as the only center; instead he can relax his mind knowing that Bogut is there to help him out and happily take that starting center responsibility off his back. This could allow Biedrins to play more confident and stress free, resulting in a possible comeback season where he will play much more efficiently like he's done during his best years.

This would be big for the Warriors. Not only do the Warriors finally have a great big man in Bogut, but they would also have another good center backing him up if Biedrins can come back to form by playing like a starter again.

The Warriors would go from a team that was lacking size and production from their 5 spot, to being a team which surprisingly has the center position as one of their main strengths. This is something the Warriors have obviously been missing for so many years.

On another note: Bogut has also stated that he's rarely ever gotten to play with a backup center during his NBA career so far. How will Bogut perform now that he finally has a true backup center?

"... and we still didn't sign a backup big [man]. We let Kurt Thomas walk, and he had a great year for us. I can definitely question the way things were ran there, too, but I'm not going to get into the nitty-gritty. But I would've liked to have had a backup big. We haven't had a backup big man [in Milwaukee] probably since Jamaal Magloire was there [in 2005-06]. And to be fair, we've had [power forwards] who play the [center spot], so that's frustrating."

Having a real backup center in Biedrins will be beneficial to Bogut. Bogut could rest more while allowing the revitalized Biedrins to come in the game and do work in the paint (blocking shots, scoring efficiently, rebounding the ball etc.).

This means that the Warriors could possibly be getting an even better version of Andrew Bogut than the one who played in Milwaukee since he'll be less fatigued during games as a result of having an actual backup center helping him out (as well as having a frontcourt mate in David Lee dropping dimes to him down low).

If Andris Biedrins is still a Warrior next season, do you see him making big improvements with his role as a backup center? If so, how far do you see the Warriors going now that they have size and depth at the center position?

A video I decided to make in tribute of Monta.

Even though I stopped doing my official Warriors videos back in 2007, I just had to put this one together real quick even though I had limited time.

Sorry if I'm extremely rusty, but I hope you guys still enjoy. I still decided to put this out even though I wasn't satisfied with the final product. Thanks!

Hella random topic, but when did Oracle Arena start doing fireworks after Warriors games? I was at the Ws/Bulls games last night and about 15 minutes after the game, fireworks started coming out of the top of the Arena. Am I late on this or what? Just wondering, since I've been going to Ws games since 2005 and can't recall seeing any fireworks.

The surprising part is that they don't even have to give up Eric Gordon in the trade. I think the Warriors could have made a better offer than this even without involving Curry.

Monta Ellis as a centerpiece to a CP3 trade might have worked, then find a way to trade Stephen Curry in a package for Dwight Howard.

Can't say I'm surprised. I actually would have loved to see him on the Warriors, but that's just me.

With the Clippers no longer offering Jordan/Gordon, could the Warriors switch up their offer into trading Monta for CP3 and still have the best offer?

*Old ass incomplete video I never finished. Sharing it cause I feel like it.

This was the last time the Warriors beat the Lakers @ Oracle Arena. Hopefully we get another win against them tonight to end our LAL losing streak!

It doesn't say why he got kicked out, but I'm assuming it was because of attitude problems.

DeMarcus was one of the players whom a lot of Warriors fans (including me) wanted to get in the draft. It sucked that we were only one pick away from landing him, but if Cousins constantly has immaturity issues, would you still prefer him over Udoh? I wonder how Keith Smart would have dealt with him.

This makes the David Lee trade seem better for the Warriors although I still hope Azubuike can get healthy again and have a comeback year.

Not that it's important, but Biedrins has a new hairstyle to go along with the "new everything" direction the team is going with.
