"Like" the link on Facebook to petition for the Lions to wear a "TK" patch in honor of Tom Kowalski.  The page started yesterday and already has nearly 1000 "likes" and is increasing rapidly. I imagine many of you have already done this, but I figured I would fanpost it because it had yet to be done.  I already miss reading his articles/tweets. RIP Killer.

Pride Of Detroit Question/Comment

I know we have beat this to the ground, but my biggest issue with the Calvin Johnson "catch" is the lack of consistency throughout the league.  I have mixed feelings on what rule even applies to Megatron's stolen touchdown.  I don't want to make this long, but I remember seeing Lance Moore's 2 point conversion during the Super Bowl and at the time I knew the NFL's rule of a catch and I didn't believe this fit the description.  My friends called me crazy because I said this should not count, based on the NFL's rules.

Here's the link:

I don't know if the same rules apply to this and Calvin's situation, but I believe they should either both be catch's or neither of them should be.  I find it unfair that this is considered a catch, but Calvin's was not.

More than likely if it was Brees throwing that ball today then the NFL calls it a touchdown haha

Pride Of Detroit Tickets On Sale Tomorrow

As most of you know Individual Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 AM.  Do you think any of the games will sell out on the first day?  I have never purchased tickets through the Lion's website so I am not sure if they sell out or if they sell at all haha.  I would like to purchase tickets for the home opener but will not have access to a computer when they go on sale.  How long does it usually take for them to sell out, if they ever do.  I expect much fewer blackouts this season due to an improved team :)

Also, what games would you guys like to attend this season? (aside from the jets trip)

Thanks

Pride Of Detroit McNabb to Rams rumors heating up

There has been a report that the Rams have offered their second round draft and/or O.J Atogwe to the Eagles in exchange for QB Donavon McNabb.  There has also been a source saying that these reports are false.  Either way it is interesting and worth discussing the effect this could potentially have on the Lions and their draft.  If McNabb did end up going to St. Louis, then I am pretty sure we could all agree they will not be taking QB Sam Bradford with the number 1 overall pick come April.  I would assume they would take Ndamukong Suh first overall.  That would leave Detroit with a few options at number 2, which would probably be McCoy, Okung or trade.  Mayhew has said he is confident that he will get a trade offer, he as also said he wants to get the right value with the second overall pick.  If this does happen I could see us taking that trade offer assuming its a fair trade.  I don't really care for Okung, or I should say, I don't really care for Okung with the second overall pick.  I just don't think he compares to other OT picked high recently such as D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Joe Thomas, Jake Long, or even Joe Staley from CMU who was picked 28th overall I believe.  Anyway, I just hope this trade doesn't get completed.  Your thoughts...

Bucs Nation Needs

After the Sean Jones signing, we have one less need.  I believe this changes the way we will approach the draft.  Many believed we would draft Eric Berry.  Now I believe we will either trade or pick or draft Gerald McCoy in the first round.   This may sound crazy, but I believe we are only about 3 needs (positions) away from being a really good football team.  We ended the season on a high note and showed signs of potential for good things to come.  It would be great to be able to draft 3 or 4 starters in this years draft, and I believe this is possible with 4 picks in the first 3 rounds (as of now at least).  What positions do you think we need to upgrade?

Pride Of Detroit Quick Question

Out of curiosity, what teams in the league today still run the West Coast Offense or version of the West Coast Offense? After all of the coaching changes last season, I feel like it has changed.

thanks

Bucs Nation Antonio Bryant

The more and more I hear about him, the less likely it sounds like we re-sign him.  I understands he probably wants a lot of money.  And the glazers are probably too freaking cheap to give it to him.  Cleary WR is a need.  I don't see why we would let him go.  He is arguably the best talent on offense (possibly behind K2).  It doesn't make sense, if we need WRs then why let a potential pro bowler leave, it would just make WR an even larger need.  I understand this past season wasn't  great due to injury, but he has all of the skills/potential to be an elite receiver.  Why would we resign Clayton but not Bryant?  Maybe I am jumping to conclusions too early, what do you believe happens?

here are a couple links about bryant

Pride Of Detroit Not So Serious Proposal

Obviously this won't happen, but an interesting thought.  Favre clearly loves the sport of football, and is clearly good at it.  As much as you probably don't like him or think hes a douche, he's one of the best.  My guess is after getting his ass kicked, he won't return next season.  However, I'm sure he wants to still be involved with the sport.  Do you think he would come back as a QB coach?  He has the experience to be able to coach, and hes a proven leader.  A lot of people compare stafford to the next favre.  Favre has told staff that he likes the way he plays.  And matt has said he admires brett.  I know linehan is coaching the QBs this season, but I would love to see brett come in and teach stafford as much as possible.

Your thoughts

Bucs Nation Coaching Staff

Quick question about our coaching staff.  I remember about a month ago there were rumors that special teams coach Rich Bisaccia would join Lane Kiffin and Monte Kiffin at the University of Tennessee.  Shortly after Lane/Monte left for USC.  So is Rich Bisaccia going to? or will he remain in Tampa?  There was a recent report that said the Bucs will keep the same staff except for a few changes such as a new WR coach and a QB coach

Pride Of Detroit Next Season - Linebackers/DL

Ive noticed a lot of talk recently about what to do next season with our "over stocked" linebacking corps.  I don't believe its overstocked, I believe it is perfect for depth purposes.  I am glad to see DeAndre Levy turning into a solid starting linebacker.  My question is, are any of our linebackers capable of playing defensive end?  We need help on the d-line and instead of either trading ernie sims or letting larry foote go, could we just have  one of the 4 main linebackers make a transistion to defensive end.  I know there are the certain "hybrid" players (typically in a 3-4) that play both linebacker/DE (harrison,orakpo,ware)....I don't neccessarily support this idea, just a thought

Pride Of Detroit Lions Sign D.J Boldin

The Detroit Lions have struck a deal with the younger brother of Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin, agreeing to terms with undrafted Wake Forest wideout D.J. Boldin, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Boldin caught 81 passes last season for 848 yards and three touchdowns.

Mike Florio reported last month that the younger Boldin had visited the Lions.

Plus, D.J. Boldin was also on the Philadelphia Eagles’ radar, conducting a private workout for team officials.

As it turned out, the Eagles were also one of the teams repeatedly linked to Anquan Boldin in trade discussions.

He sounds similar to his Brother Anquan.  He led the ACC in receptions last year, meaning more than Hakeem Nicks.  Hopefully he sees a lot of the field this year
