Official Word - No Word Yet


While rumors have circulated all day that DC Nick Holt and Safeties coach Jeff Mills had been let go, the official word from the school is that no decision has been made yet. UW coach Steve Sarkisian said after Washington's 67-56 loss to Baylor in the Alamo Bowl last night that he would immediately begin evaluating every aspect of the program and the defense is an obvious area of heavy introspection. However, Holt also said in a brief interview that any report that he won't be back next year is "news to me.'' Asked if he expects to be back next season he said "absolutely. Yeah.''

We are a laughingstock on defense. There really isn't anything else that needs to be said. I know, we might not have a replacement lined up but frankly tonight proved to me - I don't care.

Delano Howell to miss Washington game


Stanford safety Delano Howell will miss Saturday's game against Washington because of an unspecified hand injury, according to a school spokesman. He will be evaluated on a "weekly basis going forward." How will this affect the Stanford secondary as they try to contain a torrid Washington receiving corps?
