I think most people here think the White Sox are screwing themselves over for the next few years by dealing/signing for over-30 players..and I might have to agree, but you have to at least appreciate the effort KW is putting in. But exactly how far away are we from contending NEXT YEAR? I don't want to hear about 2010, or even 2009, I want to hear what moves it will take during THIS offseason to be in the AL Central race come September. For starts, here's my personal opinion:

1. A above-league average CF offensively and defensively
   
2. Some type of leadoff hitter (high OBP)
   
3. A (hopefully cheap) back of the rotation starter with some experience - maybe a Colon type guy
   
4. A decent 2B (I really don't think Richar is going to cut it)

-Notice I am not including bullpen or bench, because I think we can get help for those through our farm system.
