LT vs LT (a stupid, unnecessary issue)
I tweeted this to Peter King of SI, but got no response. (I can't blame him, he gets TONS of msgs)
Anyway, does anyone else get bothered when someone refers to "LT" and you look and you see they're talking about LaDanian Tomlinson? Seriously, could there be any other "LT" than Lawrence Taylor? It's just annoying because it detracts from BOTH of their legacies.
And just so I'm not considered merely a complainer, I have also come up with a solution: Keep "LT" original and old-school with Taylor, but give Tomlinson his due by adding an important letter on the end--one that will make it different from Taylor but also reflect his own legacy: "LTD"
I could totally refer to one of the greatest ten backs all-time as "LTD" without it taking away from one of the ten greatest linebackers of all-time.
What do you guys think?
