I know there will be a million crabtree fan post, but my concern is...is this a bad time?  I know the sooner the better, but we have a tough opponent coming up in the atlanta falcons.  How will Crabtree's new teammates embrace him?  We have a good thing going right now.  Good team chemistry.  we we'll need to be 100% focused to take on a upcoming falcons team.  Obviously it would have been much better to have gotten the deal done before the season got underway, but do ya'll think the deal should have struck during our bye week?  Also its funny how braylon edwards sign to the jets like exactly when we landed a deal with Crabs.  Edwards been on the block since the beginning of training camp.  makes you wonder Ehh?  I still would love compensation for tampering

Was anyone aware of Shaun Hills Injury/surgery?  Apparently Shaun Hill has been playing the past two seasons with a Index finger injury, which prevented Him from throwing spirals.  It also kept him from performing deep passes.  Im not sure when but Hill received  an operation where  bone marrow from another part in his hand was used to fix where he dislocated his finger now he can throw a deep ball.  Here's the link  http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp09/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=4411536.  Thats like music to my ears A game managing qb with zip behind his passes.....Id love to see shaun hill in a commercial boasting about his rocket laser arm....

Ok, does anyone have insider at espn.com?  There's a source close to the team that says Alex smith pretty much have the starting job,  But i cant read the rumor because....well Im not a member.  I also read that michael crabtree may be hurt still so a hold out at this point isnt really that bad for him.  Alex smiths shoulders looking good watching that shot- gun kick back while him and swan hill were clay shooting.  Hopefully he doesnt reaggrivate it.

I know its been mention time and time again,  But hey 49er news is at a stand still.  While 49er news is in a drought I'm still entertaining the julius pepper idea.  Im a huge fan of Manny Lawson,  Even if he's under achieved as the 22nd overall pick.   considering Peppers signed his tender, how do 49er fans feel about giving up 2 first round picks for an elite pass rusher.  We have from preseason, up until week 6 to come to a decision if our pass rush is still worthless.  By week 6 we should have a pretty good idea of how our pass rush will fair. Should we hold on to our 2 draft picks going into the 2010 season, or take a stab at an elite pass rushers whos still young.   Even if we cant save the rest of the season.  we can still sure up the future. or no?  Peppers is a long shot but could he be worth it?  with the addition of peppers would the defense be a force in the nfl.  We were 13th overall.  we're lookin at top 10 in 09.  could peppers make our defense so scary that we go beyond being considered a bubble team, and become contenders? or is Peppers too risky of a transition considering hes a DE in a 4-3 defense, and isnt worth that risk since theres more holes to fill.

  Since the  season has ended  i have read an abundance of 49er related articles.  Now that mini-camp has officially  ended, my outlook has changed on certain players,free agent signings, and coaching decisions. I just wanted to know does anyone feel differently then they did at the end of the season? keeping track of OTA's is anyone as excited about Vernon Davis as me? he's showing his ass in practice.  i do realize its practice and your playing against your own guys but come on.  Shaun hill vs Alex smith.  I'm a big fan of Shaun Hill, but do anyone feel like if Smith can win the job from him then its the right decision.  I see alot of people that dislike smith; feels he's a bust. to me i feel he's young.  I see how much zip he has when he release compared too that thing hill delivers when he throws.  I think that the confidence that he(smith) can fit the ball in there is probably the difference between an completion and a int.  Think about it, Hill makes the safe pass 6-15 yards because its there. Its a chance he can make  the 25-30 yard pass but if its a bit behind that's an int.  All I'm saying is I think Smith just might be the best solution for our qb situation.  Maybe I just don't want to see Hill fall under the same catergory as, say....ay tim ratty.  I much rather him be a what if player.  "What if he played a full season how good could he be"?  Right now everyone knows he dont have the Physical tools as Cutler, but statistically per game played, hills more impressive.  Maybe under a full season he becomes shaun hill the practice player.  Id rather Hill come in as a back up atleast we would have an experienced back up.  Hill reminds me of pennington he makes good decisions with his passes I never feel on the edge when hes behind center.  If Smith in fact really has fallen off since his injury, and Jimmy rayes system is closely related to turners.....smith becoming healthy should be exactly what we need.  we may be in for a treat.

   When we released Bryant Johnson and signed a smaller jones I admit I was a little skeptical.  I'm not familiar with brandon jones, all I know is jones brought in around the same amount of receiving yards and he's 2 inches shorter.  Now I've been watching him in practice and I see the kid can fly.  Zeigler?....when I first seen zeigler he looked like a highschool wr.  anytime he caught a pass I would tense up hoping that he ran out of bounds or performed a qb slide.  Now in practice recievers are absent Hill, and battle in particular.  With more opportunities I guess ziggy is getting more attention and I like it.  I would still prefer matt jones over him though. I've never seen heitman without equipment he's a beast.  tarrel brown I had high hopes for and I still do, but in practice just about every receiver has abused him. Goldson OH yes.  Im so glad roman is out of the picture.  Alot of people are real quiet and I was hoping to hear a little more noise from (reggie smith?).  Is it good that the DB's are quiet?  its so much but Im going to leave it open to comments.

  how about Matt Jones instead of  Zeigler? more then a fair trade right? cut Zeigler sign jones.  I'll also add matt jones 6'6. ziggy 6'3. whos the better redzone threat?  why don't we look into a player like matt jones.  I think outside of his off field issues he can be a very productive player.  He also said hes ready to turn his life around, but how many players say  that around the media and shows no improvements?  in recent sitings I've actually heard good things about ziggy , but Ive also seen jones in action and he can be quite freightening
