Bobcats guard D.J. Augustin was seen by Charlotte orthopedist Dr. Bob Anderson today and the diagnosis confirmed an inflammatory condition of the sesmoid bones that lie in the flexor tendons on his right big toe.
Augustin re-aggravated the injury, which had bothered him previously; during to the first quarter of the Bobcats’ Jan. 22, matchup at New Jersey. Augustin is expected to miss the team’s next four games (five days total).
UNC extends contract of basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell through 2018
"Hatchell is in her 26th season at Carolina. A three-time national coach of the year, she has led the Tar Heels to the 1994 national championship, three Final Fours and eight ACC titles. She has won 859 games, 587 at Carolina, and is one of only four women's basketball coaches with at least 800 wins."
Men's basketball coach Roy Williams also received a contract extension through 2018. Perhaps surprisingly, Hatchell's base salary of $360,000 will exceed Williams' by $35,000.
