NFL Officially Announces 2012 Schedule Release
The NFL today announced that the 2012 NFL schedule will be released tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. EDT. NFL.com and NFL Network will reveal the entire schedule--including the Denver Broncos' at that time. http://nflcommunications.com/2012/04/16/2012-nfl-schedule-announced-tomorrow-at-700-pm-et-exclusively-on-nfl-com-nfl-network/.
For those interested, I created a 2012 Denver Broncos Mock Schedule a little over a week ago. 2012 Denver Broncos Mock Schedule. It is always interesting to see the time, day, and point during the season when each game will be held.
The release of the schedule means that we are getting very close to the 2012 NFL Draft and in a few months, training camp.
2012 Denver Broncos Mock Schedule
It's April. The time that NFL and Denver Broncos fans alike pretend to be GMs and front office personnel. The time of mock drafts—and the actual NFL draft.
April is also the time that the NFL releases each of its thirty-two teams' schedules. The NFL released its preseason slate of games this week, and now the NFL's regular season schedule release is a little over two weeks away. No official word has been given on the exact release date and time, but in the past few years, the schedule has been released the week before or the week of the draft on a Tuesday (see http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/07/schedule-release-likely-coming-on-a-tuesday-but-which-one/). I think the schedule will, therefore, be released on Tuesday, April 17.
Join me, if you will, as we delve into a Denver Broncos mock schedule, with dates, times, and even the uniforms our Denver Broncos will be wearing each game during the 2012 season.
Is This an Indication of Tweaked Broncos' Jersey Design in 2012?
Take a look at this link to a Peyton Manning t-shirt jersey. The font for the player last name is different than the one that has been used since 1997. Additionally, the style of font for the number is different, too.
Tuesday's Nike/NFL press conference should be interesting. Apparently, the press conference will announce changes in some shape or form to all 32 NFL uniforms--whether that means wholesale changes or just a fabric and Nike swoosh alteration remains to be seen.
Demariyus Thomas Stepping Up Now That He Can Without Pain
Great story about the surging Demariyus Thomas. Thomas, a 2010 first round draft pick of Josh McDaniels has faced numerous injuries at the start of his NFL career. He suffered--and recovered from a February Achilles' injury in astounding fashion. Since December, minus a few dropped passes, he's played some great football--putting to rest--at least for now, the criticism and bust talk that many Broncos fans were giving him.
My respect level went through the roof for John Fox on Sunday when CBS Sports showed this photo of him--taken when he was the defensive backs coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1989 to 1991.
Fox looks like he is straight out of a 1980s police show or a blockbuster action movie in this photo.
Tim Tebow: God's Quarterback
An in-depth and very interesting look at Tim Tebow’s religious devotion and the role of religion in sports in today’s Wall Street Journal.

Broncos-Vikings Game Flexed From 4:05 P.M. EST to 1:00 P.M. EST
The Broncos-Vikings Week 13 game has been flexed from its previously scheduled time slot. The game originally scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. EST kickoff on Sunday, Dec. 4, will now be an early game with a 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff.
The game has also been moved from CBS to FOX, which is pretty unprecedented. Normally, games not played on Thursday, Sunday, or Monday nights follow certain protocol. Normally, when an NFC team hosts an AFC team during a Sunday day game, it is broadcasted on CBS. For whatever reason, this game will now be on FOX.
Last Chance for N.Y. Jets @ Broncos Tickets
I have two tickets for sale to tomorrow night's game against the Jets. I prefer that these go to a Broncos' fan, but I may have to put these on Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange this afternoon to ensure I sell them. Kickoff is at 6:20 p.m. MST tomorrow. The tickets are located in § 327, Row 17, Seats 9-10 in the corner of the north endzone on the east side of Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Don't miss your opportunity to witness firsthand the most unique offense in the NFL! Please e-mail me at ryanspencerhansen@gmail, if you are interested.

Hillis' Erratic Behavior With Browns Nothing New
The Curse of Madden lives on.
McFadden Out on Sunday?
Looks like Oakland Raiders starting running back and Denver Broncos destroyer, Darren McFadden is out for Sunday's game in Oakland. Look for a steady diet of Michael Bush in McFadden's absence.
Jason Gay: Tim Tebow--NFL Football's Bieber
The Wall Street Journal's Jason Gay gives a humorous look at yesterday's mundane--turned heart-pounding game between two bad football teams.
It's the Offensive Line, Stupid
Very interesting story on the importance of solid offensive line play based in part on work done by Pro Football Focus. If you haven't checked out their Web site, I highly recommend it.
The NFL's Best-Looking Team
Even if the Broncos don't win as many games as we hope, at least, they will still have their good looks.
Knowshon Moreno Gets CrossFit
Knowshon Moreno's offseason workout program proves he's hungry and wants to be a full-season difference maker on the field this season.
Vicious Rain Storm Expected for Raiders-Broncos
It's not going to help ticket sales, but word from the meteorology department is that Sunday's Oakland Raiders home game against the Denver Broncos could be played in the middle of one of the biggest storms of the year.
NBC Bay Area Weather reports that this weekend's expected storm will be a doozy, and I mean that in the bad way.
"Forecast models continue to show measurable rain returning on Friday morning and lasting into at least next Tuesday," says NBC Bay Area weather guru Jeff Ranieri. "There will be several systems (or, areas of "energy") that will produce periods of heavy rain, gusty winds and at times the potential for isolated flooding."
That's "several systems" between Friday and Tuesday. The game is at 1:15 p.m. PST on Sunday.
The Magic Number of 20
Wonder what the Broncos' magic number under Josh McDaniels might be? Think 20.

Denver Broncos: Up until a week ago, I’d have told you there was no way owner Pat Bowlen would get rid of Josh McDaniels after two years. Then the Broncos lost at home to the Raiders by the unseemly score of 683-11 (OK, it was 59-14, but same difference), and Bill Belichick’s protégé was suddenly on this list. I still think he’ll survive, but he’d better show some improvement in the coming months.
Possible replacement: John Fox. My dark horse scenario? Bill Parcells comes to the Rockies, either as football czar (and hires one of his ex-assistants as coach – maybe Chiefs assistant head coach Maurice Carthon? – as he did with Tony Sparano in Miami), or in a return to the sideline. If it’s the latter, given Parcells’ history, look for the Broncos to make the playoffs in 2011.
Jay Cutler = Jeff George?
Very interesting read comparing Chicago Bears and former Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler to the infamous Jeff George. Enjoy.

Jets Victory in Denver Defied Stats - AFC East Blog - ESPN
Depending on your perspective, you will either come away more encouraged about the game the Broncos lost yesterday or feel even worse about it after reading this post.
The New York Times: Fifth Down Blog - Denver Broncos 2010 Season Preview
Andy Benoit wrote up a well-researched and well-versed piece in his 2010 season preview for the Denver Broncos on The New York Times' NFL Blog, the Fifth Down. I thought it was not only one of the better Broncos' pieces from the MSM I have read in a long time, but one of the better NFL articles I've seen recently. Benoit's assessment is fair and definitely worth a read. You will find the article here, 2010 Denver Broncos Season Preview.
Here We Go Again...
The Sporting News (see http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/13760/publication-expects-big-season-from-chargers) predicts that the Denver Broncos will finish last in the AFC West with a 4-12 record. The Sporting News has the Chargers going 12-4, the Chiefs finishing at 9-7 and the Raiders in third at 5-11. So Broncos' fans, what is your take? Where will the Broncos finish in the AFC West in 2010?
***Updated & Final 2010 Denver Broncos Mock Schedule***
Many NFL and Denver Broncos' fans eagerly await this evening's 7:00 p.m. EDT unveiling of the 2010 NFL schedule. I posted a mock schedule a few weeks ago of how I think the Broncos' schedule will look in 2010, but have since tweaked it some after consulting with some NFL scheduling and television gurus on another message board. I have included each week's details including the uniforms, I predict the Broncos to wear each game. I will update my uniform predictions, once the schedule is released.
Thankfully, we can be put out of our misery this week in finally knowing where the Broncos will play and with which players following the three-day draft. A great week to be a Broncos' fan. The entire 2010 Denver Broncos Mock Schedule is located after the jump. As always, your feedback is most welcomed!
McNabb Goes to Washington
Long-time Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and face of the franchise Donovan McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins this evening according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. I did not see that coming--not that I am entirely surprised when Mike Shanahan is at the controls. It is a bit out of left field only because of it being an intradivision deal. I guess Shanahan and the Redskins organization must not be that enamored with Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen.

A challenging slate of games no doubt; maybe a little easier than 2009. Who knows, really? Each season is a different animal. It will be interesting to see if Denver gets a Week 1 home opener for the first time since 2004. Oh, the things to look forward to following another late season letdown.
